Kaley Perkins Kaley Perkins 6'0" | SG Langham Creek | 2021 State TX
Perkins is a big guard that can shoot yet she also does things that a small forward can do like rebound, finish inside as well as defend in the paint yet he also defended on the perimeter as well as took defenders off the dribble but that stroke, mid to long-range has been dropping for years and the Oklahoma signee has unlimited range which will transfer over to the Big 12 quickly. She did a good job of creating her shot in the games I’ve seen her but her game against Cy Creek gave those in attendance on what’s next
Ayanna Thompson Ayanna Thompson 5'10" | PF DeSoto | 2022 State TX
Thompson’s ability to take defenders with ease has always been one of her strong points because she does it either with finesse or with power yet that midrange is something to defend because she creates her shot so well and she elevates over the defender which she did numerous times in their win against Bishop Lynch. She also finishes with power, an and-one waiting to happen but her rebounding, especially on the offensive end gives her numerous putbacks and which shows both her athletic ability and desire
Saija Cleveland Saija Cleveland 5'10" | PF Langham Creek | 2022 State TX
Cleveland exploded in their loss to Cy Creek but her power inside the paint falls into the “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” category and although she’s not at the magic number, that’s 6’0 she played as if she was with strong finishes and using her ability to create contact giving her “and one” opportunities. She always plays hard, that’s a given yet watching her box-out and rebound or just using her “ups” to go and get it, on both ends was a good sign yet her midrange was clicking as well
Ariel McGinty-5’9 SF (Rudder HS)
McGinty is so athletic and combined with her energy, she just makes big plays look easy. She plays the passing lane very well and once she grabs the steal, you might not wanna blink because you may miss something like one of her acrobatic finishes in which she defies gravity to hang in the air and complete the finish. She also has a nice pull-up jumper which she can create in half-court or use in transition with the stop and pop but watching her battle for rebounds in the paint as well as her defense always is a treat
Ri’Yah Francis-6’2 PF/C (Cy Creek)
Francis is in a unique position as she can play both the power forward and the post effectively but she’s also serviceable and plays within herself which equates to “she doesn’t force things”: yet she was a major force inside the paint finishing with players figuratively hanging on her but she’s strong and powerful and has a college-ready body which means you’re in for a battle and her rebounding, on both ends of the floor, combined with her running the floor, on both ends all caught my eye
