Team first basketball is a brand new AAU team in the state of Connecticut. Ran by coach Anthony Rendino, team 1st basketball provides structure, Competitive basketball in the southern Connecticut area. With the motto of “Team over the individual.” Here is a look at the litany of talent that plays for coach Rendino.
Up first are the class of 2022 players:
Rachel Rudnicki, 5-11, Ridgefield HS ,
Rachel plays the hybrid post position. Which allows her to use her quickness to guard bigger post, and her toughness to defend guards.
Lefty Low post player, great rebounder and teammate. College coaches should be tracking her progress.
Abby Stites, 5-7, Joel Barlow HS,
Abby is a impactful wing player. Who can guard the 2-4 position. Great help defender and on the ball defender, super athletic, good mid range game.
Audrey Quish, 5-2, Immaculate HS,
Audrey plays the lead guard position for this team.
Physical PG who can control the game and not afraid to go to the rim and use her body. She is someone schools should track as she progresses in the game.
Up nest is the class of 2023 players:
Colleen Blackman 5-10, Immaculate HS,
Colleen plays 1-3, pure shooter, can shoot from anywhere on the court.With the ability to stretch the floor, Colleen opens up driving lanes for her teammates.
Grace Soltis, 6’, Immaculate HS,
Grace plays the 5, great low post everything, can score and defend and runs the court well. She does a great job of talking while playing defense. She does a good job setting screens to get her teammates open.
Sophia Fenaroli 5’8 Danbury HS,
Sophia plays 3 and 4, great rebounder and defender, tough and athletic with good mid-range game. Great teammate, who makes the extra play. Whenever her team needs it.
Up next is Class of 2024
Catherine Sollose, 5-9, Brookfield HS,
Catherine play 2-4, super athletic, great defender and rebounder, can shoot the 3, always the fastest on the court. Her motor allows her to make the extra plays on the court. She Will be viewed as one of the top freshman in Connecticut.
Cameron Froehlich, 5-4, Danbury HS,
Cameron plays 1 and 2, good all around player, can shoot, Handle the ball, defend and rebound. She along with other young ladies in this program. Comes from a competitive Danbury high school stock. I look forward to watching her progress in the coming years.
Jenna Saidman, 5-1, Immaculate HS,
Jenna plays the lead guard position for this team.
Great passer and controller of the game, makes all the right decisions on the court. With a high IQ , I look forward to seeing Jenna progress in the game.
