One of Georgia’s best point guards, Cheyenne Holloman Cheyenne Holloman 5'10" | CG Pope | 2021 State GA was the focus of the Hiram defense. The Greyhounds lost 56-34 to the Hornets, but it was to no fault of Holloman’s. The lefty filed in 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block. Holloman played on and off the ball. She played some at the high post and had to help rebound. She knocked down 3 threes and went 6-9 from the foul line. Holloman is a tough when she gets downhill and has exceptional court vision. She was named to the Marietta All-Tournament First Team.
2022 5-7 G Timber Gaither – Cherokee Bluff
A personal 13-point stretch for Timber Gaither carried the Bears before they ultimately ran out of gas in a 44-40 loss to Hart County. Gaither caught fire, hitting threes and getting to the basket as her defense helped ignite her offense. Gaither is a physical guard with a great motor. She found herself where all the action was. Timber finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
2023 5-10 PG Elle Blatchford Elle Blatchford 5'11" | PG Sequoyah | 2023 State GA – Sequoyah
There are five-tool players in baseball and then there’s Elle Blatchford Elle Blatchford 5'11" | PG Sequoyah | 2023 State GA in basketball. The super sophomore does it all for the Lady Chiefs. She scores, rebounds, defends and distributes at a high level. She tallied 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block in a scrimmage loss to Marietta. Blatchford is a triple-double threat every time she walks on the floor. The high IQ guard will get one before her career is over.
2022 5-7 F A’ryn Jackson – Sequoyah
A pitbull inside, A’ryn Jackson plays so much bigger than her size its eye-popping. Jackson is tough as nails as she crashes the glass and battles posts that have 5+ inches on her. The southpaw can occasionally step outside to shoot the three, but her value is her aggressive play and willingness to do the dirty work. She had 17 points, 14 rebounds and 1 steal vs. Marietta.
2023 5-8 G Loren Nelson – Marietta
The future is bright in the Marietta backcourt. Loren Nelson is an athletic slasher with a strong body. She uses her physical attributes on the defensive side of the ball as an aggressive on-ball defender. Nelson plays hard and can take her man off the dribble. She had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals vs. Sequoyah.
2022 5-6 PG Chloe Sterling Chloe Sterling 5'6" | PG Marietta | 2022 State GA – Marietta
In from overseas, Chloe Sterling Chloe Sterling 5'6" | PG Marietta | 2022 State GA immediately brings Marietta to another level. A great athlete, Sterling is a tough playmaker that has the ball on a string. The lefty has great court vision and can drop dimes. When she wants to, she can turn the corner and get to the hoop in the blink of an eye. She has an advanced layup package and can scoop layups over shot blockers. She will be a hot commodity with college coaches thanks to her all-around floor game. She tacked on 8 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.
2022 5-6 CG Shaina Kriews Shaina Kriews 5'7" | CG Flowery Branch | 2022 State GA – Flowery Branch
Kriews was a vocal leader for the Falcons against Forsyth Central. She directed traffic up top and made sure all her teammates were in position defensively. Kriews was a tough on-ball defender that took away breathing space. On the other side of the floor, Shaina shined as a three-point specialist, nailing four long balls. She finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steal and 1 block.
2021 6-3 C Ashlee Locke Ashlee Locke 6'3" | PF Flowery Branch | 2021 State GA – Flowery Branch
The Mercer-signee scored her 1,000th point in a dominant game which saw her nearly score at will when she touched the ball. Locke pumped in 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. She finished everything at the rim and showed a soft touch in the paint. She’s a steady post that can stretch the floor when needed.
