The event hosted some of the top high school talent on the West Coast, including several from Northern and Southern California. Here’s a quick look at some of the top players from CA that took part in the camp.
1. Synise Byrd – Valley Christian (San Jose, CA) 2023
Byrd is a combo guard who is very crafty with a high basketball IQ. She’s comfortable attacking off the dribble and she’s tough to stop in transition. Strong finisher at the rim; uses her body well to shield herself from the defense. She has a nice looking jump shot too with a quick release. She can pull up and shoot while on the break or she’ll go all the way to the rim.
2. Sariah Potts – Edison (Fresno, CA) 2024
Potts does well moving without the ball. She makes good cuts and dives around the rim and she can get out in transition. She has good court awareness and looks to make the right play and extra pass. She’s a pretty solid ballhandler and she does well against defensive pressure; keeps her composure. She’s a pretty good defensive player too when it comes to reading passing lanes and starting the break.
3. Adrienne Blackwell Adrienne Blackwell 5'4" | SG St. Marys Stockton | 2023 State CA – Saint Mary’s (Stockton, CA) 2023
Blackwell is a strong guard who has a nice little stop and pop jumper on the break. Another good ballhandler who can get to the rim with ease. She can push the ball ahead in transition. She has a good three-point shot; she sets her feet and squares up with the rim. Comfortable creating shots for herself and for others. Defensively, she is strong on ball and has quick feet and mobility.
4. Etoyah Montgomery – Clovis West (Fresno, CA) 2023
Montgomery is an intriguing wing prospect with high upside. She recently picked up an offer from Cal State Bakersfield. She made a solid impact last season as a freshman. She’s got strong perimeter defensive potential with her length and mobility. She’s comfortable with the ball in her hands. She’s also a pretty good rebounder; she’s there under the rim for putbacks/offensive rebounds.
