As mentioned in the top 10 players article, the Prep Girls Hoops prospect rankings are all about the potential players have as college prospects. While some players will have immediate impacts on varsity rosters, as we make our way to end of the initial ranked list of 54 players most may not see more than limited varsity time. The bulk of playing time will be found at the JV through Freshman levels.
Enjoy this look at players ranked #11 – #20.
#11 Izzy Joyce Izzy Joyce 5'5" | PG Shawnee Mission West | 2024 State KS , 5’5″, PG, Shawnee Mission West, KC Next Level Eclipse – Joyce has floor general abilities due, as Troy Wade with The Sunflower Smack Show says, to being able to control pace and the floor. Further, he says she has a great deal of moxie, just knows how to play the game, and finishes well with both hands.
#12 Sara Springer Sara Springer 5'5" | PG Wamego | 2024 State KS , 5’4″, PG, Wamego, SSA Elite – If Wamego was not going to strong enough in comes the top 2024 point guard in class 4A and USJN Battle at the Border pool Q 14U all-star. My first look at her was an extended one at MAYB’s June 13-14 event in Wichita. She showed good ability to shoot well off kick-outs and beat defenders of the bounce to score with runners. At MAYB’s Reign the Plains she continued to show strong handles, including the ability to back out of trouble. Finally, at the Kansas PGH Top 250 Expo event in October, she matched up with some of the stronger players in the upper class and never quit. Not a player to put on the line, Springer is a 4-time state Elks hoop shoot champion.
#13 Jadyn Wooten Jadyn Wooten 5'6" | PG Blue Valley | 2024 State KS , 5’5″, PG, Blue Valley, Team KC Hoops – In October 2019 my PGH Iowa colleague Mason Asher and I had the opportunity to watch Wooten, as an eighth grader, compete at Iowa PGH Top 250 Exposure event. We agreed that Wooten was not just among the youngest players in the event but also among the most talented. She was also seen by PGH scout Mia Laube during day 3 of a July Tournament of Champions event in Des Moines, IA. Laube reported on her ability to elevate over defenders in the lane and the strength she showed in spinning in the paint to finish off a “explosive power dribble.” Mason Asher also reported on her via Twitter after seeing her at the event. He said that she “…is a very skilled guard who gets to her spot really well.” Additionally, she is confident; “…can get into her jumper anywhere on the floor;” very advanced for her age; and anticipates that “…as she grows she’ll develop into a great player.”
#14 – Nevaeh Jones Nevaeh Jones 5'8" | CG Labette County | 2024 State KS , 5’7″, SG, Erie, SEK Vipers – The lengthy Jones can go end-to-end with her head up and finish on both sides of the rim with either hand. She makes effective use of ball fakes to create perimeter jumpers or get into the paint. Jones is able to pull up off the bounce and hit the quick three point shot off the catch.

Abigail Long
Abigail
Long
5'8" | CG
Shawnee Mission East | 2024
State
KS
, 5’8″, CG, Shawnee Mission East, KC Gold Elite – At the September Blue Star All-American Camp she showed deep three point range, good handles, and the ability to create her own perimeter shot. Long also showed the ability to jump shoot with elevation. She has good half-court vision to go with a high IQ, using those abilities to maneuver her body to alter her shot on the finish and, defensively, to be disruptive and generate steals. Long has good length and transition speed with the ball.
#16 Jillian Huckabey Jillian Huckabey 6'0" | SG Olathe Northwest | 2024 State KS , 5’10, SG, Olathe Northwest, Lady Run GMC – Huckabey has a long, slim build that she uses, with good anticipation, to disrupt passing lanes. Able to go end-to-end with speed, she is unafraid of contact on the finish. Huckabey is a threat on the perimeter and as an interior distributor. She has the ability to create her own shot or get a step to the basket with good head and ball fakes. As a shooter, she can jump shoot quickly off the catch and with elevation. When rebounding she does a good job of holding the ball high and going up quickly on the offensive end.
#17 Camryn Smith Camryn Smith 5'8" | CG Shawnee Mission South | 2024 State KS , 5’8″, CG, Shawnee Mission South, KC Gold Elite – I enjoyed seeing Smith first hand at the Kansas PGH Top 250 Expo in July. A high IQ, physical, and all-around player Smith she has strong transition and half-court ball skills. Aggressive to the basket and creative on the finish, including showing the ball well, Smith can score around the rim with either hand. She anticipates well defensively to jump passing lanes and does a great job of denying the ball to quicker guards. Smith boxes and rebounds well, hustles off turnovers and, in transition, able to surprise shooters with a shot block.
#18 RaMya Kennedy RaMya Kennedy 5'8" | SF Wichita South | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, SG, Wichita Southeast, Midwest United – I enjoyed a good look at Kennedy at a MAYB tournament in July. She has a solid, athletic build and is a fast scorer with handles. She has the ability to create off the dribble and the ability to make defenses extend due to her three point shooting ability.
#19 Ella Dirks Ella Dirks 5'11" | SF Blue Valley Northwest | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, PF, Olathe North, Missouri Phenom – Dirks had a good performance at the Kansas PGH Top 250 Expo in October. She makes good use of her size and strength and has the ability to get to the basket from the perimeter.
#20 Lauren Marron Lauren Marron 5'6" | PG Piper | 2024 State KS , 5’5″, PG, Piper, SHOtime Basketball Academy – Club and former Bonner Springs head coach Nick Schuster says Marron “… has a great feel for the game…and can score from anywhere on the court.” She wants the ball in her hands and “… she established herself as a point guard by becoming more vocal on both ends of the floor.”
