Cassidy Mustard, 5-9 F, Fairborn
A bright spot in a rough game for Fairborn in their loss to Piqua. Cassidy was a solid productive player throughout the game with a variety of different shots. She showed good range connecting on a pair of three-pointers, but she was more than just a perimeter shooter. She knew where to get in position and was a smart player both offensively and on defense. She was one rebound from a double-double, and was a player who came back in her second game of the season with another double figure game.
Karley Johns, 5-8 G, Piqua
What a day she had against Fairborn. Mustard was leading Fairborn, but Johns put on a show and the thing is, it was a quiet show. You would never know she dropped 30 points in the win. She showed a variety of weapons, not only connecting on a couple of threes, but Karley did a great job with penetrating to the basket. She went to the free throw line 18 times, establishing herself in the paint and showed a variety of moves. Strong on the boards, not afraid of contact. She has been steady each of their first three games.
Abby Carter, 5-10 G, Miamisburg
Solid start to the season for the Vikings. Impressive showing against Valley View scoring 13 points and nearly hitting a double-double twice already this season. She does a great job getting in position and is a scorer. Smart heady player with a lot of good intangibles. She moves well and will create her shots. Has a nice perimeter game, or can get to the line. Moves well in transition.
Katie Hemmelgarn, 6-3 P, Tippecanoe
Katie has shown a lot of improvement already this season, as she can hurt a defense in multiple ways. She does a good job around the basket, scoring at the rim, and on the offensive boards. She also can step out and shoot the midrange shot and even isn’t afraid to let it fly from behind the arc. Defensively, she alters shots and can swat away shots in the paint. Her stock continues to rise.
Ashleigh Mader Ashleigh Mader 6'0" | CG Tippecanoe | 2021 State OH , 5-9 W, Tippecanoe
Impressive court savvy kid who can help her team from all parts of the court. Moves very well without the ball and can get into position to score from the perimeter. Solid handles and good court vision, solid passer and loves to push north-south on the break. Had a good summer with Team Ohio and has Tipp off to a fast 3-0 start.
