The rise in Covid cases has put the 2020-21 season in jepardy. Some jurisdictions have yet again postponed while others have tentively cancelled the entire season. Modified practices for many schools are continuing with hopes of actually playing. We are still going through scrimmages and fall leagues for what it’s worth. In light of the IH’s recent passing, the DMV rankings will continue in his honor. A quick look at 21-30 the preseason rankings.
21. TPLS Christian Academy – Messiah Hunter Messiah Hunter 6'1" | SF TPLS Christian Academy | 2021 State VA transfers in and Skye Robinson Skye Robinson 6'2" | PF TPLS Christian Academy | 2021 State VA returns. The Lions have one of the most talented rosters on paper and a handfull of players over 6’2″. The have the flexability of schedule to get a full season in and if they can get the chimestry together tey can be amongst the top teams in the country.
22. Colgan – Alyssa Andrews Alyssa Andrews 5'11" | PF Colgan | 2021 State VA is coming off an all-met season and a great summer. She capped it all off with a commitment to Virginia Tech. She will be asked to play a little of every position for the Sharks.
23. Urbana – The Hawks will be able to bang it out inside with Paige Clausen Paige Clausen 5'9" | SF Urbana | 2021 State MD and Natalie Voorhees. The get a huge roster bump with super sophmore Alana Tate transfering in.
24. Pikesville – The Panthers return Amayah Frazier Amayah Frazier 5'7" | CG Pikesville | 2022 State MD , Dakota Fisher Dakota Fisher 6'0" | PF Sacred Heart | 2021 State MD and Kristin Sterling Kristin Sterling 6'0" | CG Pikesville | 2021 State MD the trio have the fire power to challenge yet again for a state championship.
25. St. James School – Gabby Grantham-Medley Gabby Grantham-Medley 5'7" | SF North Hagerstown | 2023 State MD and Grace McMahon Grace McMahon 5'4" | PG Saint James | 2023 State MD are do everything sophomores that will be asked to do everthing after the Saints other starters have all graduated.
26. Old Mill – The Patriots were the surprise team last season and returning Amaya Douglas Amaya Douglas 5'11" | SF Old Mill | 2023 State MD will have them as the talk of the county once again.
27. Winston Churchill – With no one in the conference to contend with Parker Hill Parker Hill 6'3" | PF Winston Churchill | 2021 State #85 Nation MD , the Bulldogs can control the paint with pretty much anyone that they play.
28. Clarksburg – The loss of Alana Tate to transfer will be devastating to the Coyotes, fortunately the will return Mia Smith Mia Smith 5'9" | SF Clarksburg | 2022 State MD to hold things down.
29. Menchville – The Monarchs had one of the most talented freshmen classes in the region last season. They all return a little more seasoned starting with Kiara Beal Kiara Beal 5'8" | CG Menchville | 2023 State VA .
30. Good Counsel – The Falcolns have been trying to scratch and claw their way out of the bottom half of the WCAC for a few years but still have been able to remain competitive with everyone they play. Kadidia Toure Kadidia Toure 6'2" | PF Good Counsel | 2022 State MD will be tasked with keeping games close this season.
