DEPSA is a state and national powerhouse program. There are kids entering school this year that weren’t born yet the last time the school didn’t win a state championship. And the talent level hasn’t dropped this season, as the DEPSA program is littered top notch prospects.
But here comes Detroit Renaissance. Coach Lawal came in, and the program did an immediate turn around. They have a handful of potential D1 prospects, and they have a distinct style to their game. Renaissance plays defense the entire length of the floor and plays a fluid offense with constant motion and screening.
These 2 teams squared off last year on February 1. It proved to be one of the best games of the year, with DEPSA holding on for a 54-52 victory. We need the rematch this year. We need to see 2 of the premier teams in the state square off.
Let’s look at some of the talent that would be gracing the court in this highly anticipated matchup.
