She makes everything look easy, including pretty spin moves and floaters in the lane. She is creative when driving to the basket, and it’s beautiful to watch. Can make shots with contact, great jumping ability, and when she is double teamed- she’s not rattled at all. Howe is difficult to guard, with her length, speed, and the ability to shoot from anywhere on the court. She plays with such control. Great passer, can rebound, solid defender. No question one of the best players in the state.
Mary Ferrito- PG/SG, 2022, Jonathan Alder: This girl right here, can do it all! Right now, she is averaging a double double (almost a triple double in overall stats) with 12.7 ppg., 10 rpg., and leading the Central Buckeye Conference in assists with 8.3. She is such a smooth player, with great handles, aggressive on defense, and is a natural leader on the court. Mary can dribble penetrate, or hurt you from the outside. College coaches, she’s got all the tools, with a great work ethic and intensity that’s displayed every game.
Evan Platfoot Evan Platfoot 5'8" | SF Jonathan Alder | 2024 State OH – 5’7, PG/SG, 2024, Jonathan Alder: Platfoot is an impressive freshman who’s making a big impact for the Pioneers! She shows patience and confidence on the court, and it’s backed up with her FG% at 52.4%, while averaging 11 ppg. She does a great job of drawing contact, which gets her to the charity stripe; she’s perfect so far this season, at 10/10. Evan has a scorers mentality, and sees the floor so well, creating scoring opportunities for her teammates. Loads of potential- she’s got a great 4 years ahead of her, and without question, college coaches will be after her. (Pictured in orange jersey below)
NeNe Garner- PG, 2023, Thomas Worthington: Garner is a super quick lead guard who is aggressive and scrappy. What impresses me most with Garner’s game is her intensity on the defensive end. She hounds her opponents, and can pick pockets- from there, her speed and solid ball handling skills allow her to score easy buckets. She can nail the 3’s and mid range jumpers as well. NeNe is definitely a player to watch this season and in the years to come!
Jocelyn Ramos-Chears- 5’10, SG, 2022, Thomas Worthington: Jocelyn’s size and athleticism allows her to be a threat anywhere on the court. She has pretty moves to the basket, and can punish her opponents by going baseline or in the paint with floaters. She’s not afraid of contact, and can slither between multiple defenders. Very good hands, always ready to knock down shots. Nice outside shooter, both mid range and behind the arc. Her length helps her defensively as well, good rebounder.
