Hope Drake (Briar Woods (VA) 2024, 5’11″ SG)
Briar Woods guard Hope Drake was one of several guards that stood out during the Fresh Outta Middle School showcase. She showed a great ability to be a shot creator for herself and her teammates. Drake defended well against a lot of excellent guards that made the trip to Fayetteville and will be one to watch in Virginia for a long time. Expect her stock to grow significantly over the next several months among college coaches.
Savannah Curry (Roland Park Country Day (MD) 2024, 5’11″ CG)
Another name coaches will be hearing about is Roland Part Country Day guard Savannah Curry. Curry was another one of the top performers at the FOMS showcase because of her play on both ends of the floor. She can score in a myriad of ways and makes excellent reads in the pick-and-roll. Expect her to be one of Maryland’s top guards over the next four years.
Jordan Mintz Jordan Mintz 5'3" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC (Westwood (SC) 2024, 5’6″ PG)
Westwood (SC) guard Jordan Mintz Jordan Mintz 5'3" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC certainly has what it takes to be an impact player as a freshman on the high school level. She’s an excellent ball handler and shot creator at point guard and it showed at the Fresh Outta Middle School Showcase. There were stretches throughout several games where she was the best player on the floor for her team. She be a big part of the Redhawks program based in Blythewood, South Carolina.
Taylor Barner (Panther Creek (NC) 2024, 5’6″ PG)
Another soon-to-be instant impact freshman is Taylor Barner from Panther Creek (NC). She’s another one of the excellent group of guards that made the trip to Fayetteville that stood out. Barner shoots the ball and attacks the basket well while also being an excellent passer. Expect her to be a big part of Panther Creek’s success against great competition in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas). Barner is a name college coaches should keep their eye on over the next few months.
