The Grand Forks Red River squad has only played two games in this early season but PGH has a good handle on what this team may be like after viewing both games. They started out the season with an easy win against Fargo South winning 64-31. They then followed that up by beating a solid Shanley team 55-44. Red River has a standout prospect in Alex Page Alex Page 6'0" | SF Grand Forks Red River | 2021 State ND but they play great team basketball and have many contributors to their team’s success. They have two super-quick point guards, good length on the wings, and a post with great size, strength, and touch on the inside. But the team goes as Alex Page Alex Page 6'0" | SF Grand Forks Red River | 2021 State ND goes and she is quite the solid prospect and has an all-around skill-set. Let’s get to know Alex and the rest of the squad!
Alex Page Alex Page 6'0" | SF Grand Forks Red River | 2021 State ND – (6’0/SF/2021) – 17.5 ppg. – 10.5 rpg. – 3.0 stls. – Alex was missed in our last rankings update but she won’t be missed on the next, as she will come high on the 2021 prospect rankings. She’s a complete prospect at a 6’0 wing. There’s a lot to like about her game as she possesses a complete offensive arsenal consisting of mid-range pull-up jumpers, floaters, inside finishes, and has a highly accurate three-point game. Has good length and is quick enough to create separation to get her shot off. Has an effective pump-fake game, as her three is well respected. Will run the floor hard in transition. Seems to consistently make great decisions with the ball and has a knack for taking and finding good shots. She put up 20 points and 9 boards versus Shanley and had a full line against Fargo South, scoring 15 with 12 boards, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Alex’s ability to finish and be efficient with her scoring opportunities might be her greatest advantage against the competition. Not an overly explosive athlete, but more of a basketball player that is skilled and athletic enough.
Ella Fosse Ella Fosse 5'5" | PG Grand Forks | 2021 State ND – (5’5/PG/2021) – 5.0 ppg. – 5.0 apg. – 4.0 stls. – Ella is another steady point guard that plays the position to a tee. She handles the ball, looks for teammates, hits open jumpers, and plays hard-nosed on-ball defense. She possesses quick defensive feet. Likes to push the tempo but not overly. Prides herself on getting into the lane for a floater or a kick-out to a shooter.
Jasmine Sondrol Jasmine Sondrol 6'0" | SF Grand Forks Red River | 2021 State ND – (6’0/SF/2021) – A long wing prospect that uses her long arms well in her team’s zone defense. On offense, Jasmine loves to look for her three-point shot. You can normally find her setting up, getting ready for a pass for a three. More of a stationary wing but you can’t leave her open from deep. She hit 5 threes against Fargo South for 19 points and 6 rebounds. She will give a pump-fake at the three-point line and get to the hoop as well. Her length is her greatest asset, especially on the defensive side of the ball in the zone and to secure rebounds. Jasmine may be one of the more underrated prospects in the EDC as her game isn’t flashy but effective.
Kaylee Lancaster Kaylee Lancaster 5'11" | SF Grand Forks Red River | 2021 State ND – (5’11/PF/2021) – 3.0 ppg. – 4.5 rpg. – A senior role player that has decent size and will battle for boards. Fairly athletic and runs well. A hustle player that is an asset to her team. Plays intelligently and is adequately skilled.
Jade Azure Jade Azure 5'11" | C Grand Forks Red River | 2021 State ND – (5’11/C/2021) – 10 ppg. – 6.5 rpg. – Great size and strength, and uses it well. Has a nice, soft touch close to the hoop and a little extended. Her sprint speed is quite surprising. Put in 16 points versus Fargo South and 8 rebounds versus Shanley.
Hannah Litzinger Hannah Litzinger 5'9" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2024 State ND – (5’9/SG/2024) – A good-sized freshman that can get to the hoop a little off-the-dribble. In the regular rotation for Grand Forks. A tough rebounder and will sprint the court. Overall, a physical prospect for a 2024. Hannah will be added to the 2024 watch list in the next update.
Jocelyn Schiller Jocelyn Schiller 5'7" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2024 State ND – (5’5/PG/2024) – 7.0 ppg. – 4 stls. – Every aspect of Jocelyn’s game she plays super-quick. Might play a little too quick and hurried at times. She can easily get by the on-ball defender if she chooses to. She’s a pest for the opposing teams ball-handler as she will pick up early defensively and put on continuous pressure. Jocelyn will be added to the 2024 watch list as well.
Emily Robson Emily Robson 5'6" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2022 State ND – (5’6/SG/2022) – A bench player that has scored 5 points on the season, including a three-pointer. Emily gives great defensive effort, flying around on the top of the Red River zone defense. She’s got good quickness and a good looking jumper. Just hasn’t had a ton of opportunities yet.
