Many California players have taken part in some of these events, and there are some that have stood out and done well to boost their stock.
Here’s a quick look at some of the CA players who have taken advantage of these opportunities.
1. Halle Si – Chino Hills 2022
Si is a guard with a knack for attacking off the dribble. She looks very comfortable with the ball in her hands and breaking down defenses. She can Euro-step her way into the lane and finish at the rim. She’s able to draw contact and finish the play and also get herself to the free-throw line. Good playmaker and good shooter from three-point range. Overall tough guard.
2. Lani White – Mater Dei 2022
White is a tough wing who can score efficiently. She looks comfortable getting her own shot. She can shoot off the dribble and she has good elevation on her jumper. She’s able to attack the defense off the bounce and she has a nice little runner when she gets into the lane. She also moves very well off ball. She makes good strong cuts in halfcourt sets and he runs the break well and fills the lane in transition.
3. Corin Killian – Mater Dei 2023
Killian is a nice young guard with upside for the Monarchs. She’s a solid ball-handler and makes some good reads for a young player. Able to shoot it from the midrange and from the three-point line. Can hit that one to two dribble pull-up jumper. She can also put the ball on the floor, turn on the jets and get past her defender to the rim. Looks like a player to watch for the future.
