How’s this for the unusual – a team that tied for third place in a six-team group not only won the most games, but also was the only one to make the Colorado tournament. Indeed, McClave was interesting, going 3-2 in the High Plains, 16-7 overall. Kit Carson (4-0, 15-7) was the league champion, followed by Cheraw (3-2, 11-11), and Eads (3-2, 9-15). Granada and Cheyenne Wells both struggled at 6-14. Wiley, late of the Arkansas Valley League and now in the H.P., was 11-10.
Teams – Cheraw, Cheyenne Wells, Eads, Granada, Kit Carson, McClave and Wiley.
Which playoff team advanced the furthest?
As listed above, McClave took some hits, but down the stretch won eight of nine games before falling 42-32 to top-seeded Springfield in the 1A quarterfinals. The eighth-seeded Cardinals never got to play No. 4 Fleming in the first round of playbacks.

A quick, early look to Season B
There wasn’t a lot of firepower the past season, but two of the top-six scorers are back for McClave. Defending league champion Kit Carson has enough to think about repeating and Granada has a chance to be the most-improved.
