Each team houses a versatile wing that can do everything on both ends. The guards play with poise, scoring in multiple ways even in the face of a stingy defense. They’ll meet again in February and because of the youth on this team, they’ll run it back next year with only one player playing over 20 minutes not returning.
Donavia Hall
Hall turned in a staggering defensive performance. She used her strong 5-10 frame to smother ball handlers along the halfcourt line. Quick feet and long arms cut off players in one on one settings. Continues to impress as a passer, especially when from the paint. She can find an angle from the post or the drive.
Tiana Amos
Amos’s fingerprints are all over this game. No one around her took a dribble without her hand in their face. Usually, within a fingertip of touching her matchup, the junior shows nice footwork on the defensive end. On the offensive, a consistent jump shot netted her eight points. Rather it’s catching and shoot or off the dribble Amos is capable of either with regularity.
Nevaeh Zavala
Physical forwards that make gritty plays are necessary for any winning culture. Hancock fits the mold. She’s athletic, handled another physical post on both ends, and does little things to pester her matchup. Her handle makes her a dangerous weapon on the break.
India Howard
Howard is a physical post player. She rebounds, she finishes well around the basket, and she can be a reliable post defender. The six-foot junior brings toughness to the game.
Ada Anamekwe
Anamekwe continues her athletic play at the four. In the halfcourt she made plays with her strength, usually shrugging off contact. The junior left the game with six trips of the line, cashing in on four of the attempts. Anamekwe continues to show a strong handle and speed with the ball on the break.
Julianna Lamendola
Lamendola’s combination of size and handle is best summed up as talented. You can use her as a lead ball handler, something Coppell did several to start their offense. When she secures a rebound, she streaks down the court looking for open teammates.
Waverly Hassman
Despite being the target of a really good Plano East defense, the younger Hassman was able to score at the line. Aggressive attacks of closeouts and an ability to get downhill opened up opportunities against aggressive defenders.
Chloe Hassman
Despite being the second most targeted object of Plano East’s defense, the older Hassman played like a senior. She was a calm, productive hand the entire game even with the panthers’ size.
Taylor Haggan Taylor Haggan 5'11" | PF John Paul II | 2023 State TX
A really solid wing forward prospect that handles and shoots well. Haggan showed her ability to finish through contact on several drives.
