Below is a list of standout performers this week in the junior class. Each one of these prospects have had impressive performances in their respective matchups this week.
Grace Lomen | Catholic Memorial | 5’9 G
Lomen is an exciting athlete to watch compete because she is unpredictable on the floor- meaning she is hard to defend. She has a bag full of moves and is extremely crafty when finding her shot within the offense. She has the strength of a forward and can go up against much larger defenders. She’s confident and has the footwork to throw defenders off. On Friday, Lomen led all scorers in a 73-52 loss against Waukesha West. She finished with 25 points.
Katrina Pranke | White Lake | 5’7 G
The guard had an incredible game in a win over Marion this week. She led her team in scoring with 16 points per game. She’s an active guard who finds creative ways to score the basketball. She’s quick and athletic- Pranke is a scoring guard who can finish coast to coast.
Tyla Staude | Fort Atkinson | 5’8 W
Staude is a great athlete on the floor and gets up and down the floor so well. She has speed and strength that makes her difficult to defend. She has a nice frame and athleticism that allows her to be a great slasher. She can score at will when she wants from anywhere on the floor. She finished with 14 points in a 67-35 victory over Johnson Creek.
Hannah Strong | Clintonville | 5’7 G
The guard entered this game averaging 6 points per game. She’s been a strong role player who does all the little things right for this team. She plays with great tempo and poise on the floor. She gets after it on both ends. In her team’s victory this week over Marinette, Strong became an impact player who dominated the scoreboard. The junior led all scorers with 15 points and knocked down 4 three point baskets.
Jordana Reisma Jordana Reisma 6'2" | SF Brown Deer | 2022 State WI | Brown Deer | 6’2 F
A standout performance Wednesday against Shorewood, Reisma was unstoppable. She’s a beast on the glass and knows exactly how to score the basketball. She is an effortless three level scorer with the ability to put the ball in the hole from behind the arc as well. Her mid range pull up has been developing extremely well. Her elevation into her jumper is impressive as well. In the 67-59 victory over Shorewood, Reisma finished with a game high 33 points.
Devyn Schmeling | Onalska | 5’6 PG
The guard did a terrific job working with her fellow guards during her game this season. She had a great performance and stood out for her ability to be a two-way impact player. She’s a defensive specialist- constantly pressuring the ball at high level and defending coast to coast. Offensively she did well chasing down loose balls and finding herself open on the perimeter. She finished with 13 points in the win over Wisconsin Rapids.
Emily Mortenson Emily Mortenson 5'6" | SG Oregon | 2022 State WI | Oregon | 5’6 SG
Mortenson went into her matchup this week averaging 11 points per game. She’s a dynamic guard who can score consistently from midrange and from deep behind the arc. She has a quick release and even at 5’6 it is difficult for defenders to stop as she gets it off with very little room. In this week’s win over Mount Horeb, Mortenson finished with 17 points for her team. She knocked down 5 three point baskets as well.
Ashlyn Skinner- Barrett | Waukesha South | 5’8 PG
The Waukesha South standout plays smart- she looks for the best shot and does not force plays. She has minimal turnovers each game and it’s very elite to watch. She’s a great spot-up threat in transition. Her release is quick and balanced. She could easily take off any given night. She finished with 20 points in a 59-44 victory over Whitnall.
