Below is a list of juniors having impressive performances on the rebounds. Each one of these players have shown elite ability to rebound the basketball on both ends of the floor on a consistent basis.
Julia Klein | Catholic Central | 5’10 G
Klein is a key player for this Catholic Central squad. She’s efficient on offense and can play inside out extremely well. She has the ability to handle the basketball and be consistent in the mid range. She is averaging 12 points per game. She’s an offensive rebounding specialist as well and keeps the ball eye and finishes strong on the glass. This season she is averaging 16.6 rebounds per game. In a 60-50 win over a talented Racine St. Catherine’s team, Klein grabbed 21 rebounds.
Maddie Ognacevic | Sheboygan South | 5’10 F
The Sheboygan South forward is consistent on the boards and sees a lot of minutes because of it. She’s strong and dominant- often intimidating in the lane to her opponents. This season she is averaging 14 rebounds per game. In a close game against Green Bay Preble, Ognacevic grabbed 21 rebounds for her team.
McKenna Williams | Delavan- Darien | 5’10 F
Mckenna Williams leads her team all across the board. A prolific scorer with a unique ability to use her body to score from all three levels, Williams fills the stat sheet each night for her team. This season she is averaging 15 points. Defensively she uses her length to alter passes and be dominant in the lane. She seals off her defender well and is smart when chasing down boards. She is averaging 13 rebounds per game this season. In a game against Wilmot earlier this season, the junior grabbed 16 rebounds for her team.
Grace Schmidt Grace Schmidt 6'0" | PF Watertown Luther Prep | 2022 State WI | Watertown Luther Prep | 6’1 F
Schmidt is a terrific athlete with a crazy upside for the future. She has the mentality to compete at the next level and it shows through how comfortable she is with the basketball. She has a great feel for the game on the floor. Her shot selection is elite- she’s incredible with her back to the basket. Defensively, Schmidt is a rebounding machine. She’s consistent and determined to grab each board over her opponent. This season while averaging 27 points per game she is also grabbing 13 rebounds per game. In a team win over Mayville, Schmidt grabbed a season high 17 rebounds. She also had 13 offensive rebounds in a win over Heritage Christian.
Callie Smith | Belleville | 6’0 F
Smith is essential for this Belleville team and has led her team to some key wins this season. She’s a gifted athlete with the ability to keep up a high tempo for the entire game. She has natural instincts and it shows on the floor by her movement and shot selection. Offensively this season she is averaging 11 points per game. With a double-double almost every time she steps on the floor, Smith is averaging 13 rebounds per game. In a one point win over Waterloo, Smith grabbed a season high 22 rebounds.
Taylor Thiry | Luxemburg- Casco | 5’10 F
Thiry is an all around athlete with an extremely high ceiling. She is averaging 17 points per game and can score from all three levels. She is most effective when slashing through the lane or finishing against contact after a long transition pass. She has the athleticism and footwork to be one of the top offensive rebounders in her conference. She is averaging 12 rebounds per game. In a win over Marinette, Thiry grabbed 14 rebounds for Luxemburg- Casco.
Lexi Swanson | Johnson Creek | 5’10 G
Swanson is a very talented athlete who does everything for Johnson Creek. She leads them on both ends of the floor and has taken on a huge leadership role this season. She’s been able to score the basketball and create a game for herself so far. She is averaging 16 points per game. She’s been lethal in the mid range and around the rim. She shines on defense as she has a fantastic balance of size and quickness to be elite. She has enough speed to take risks and play the passing lanes- she has utilized this well and is averaging 4 steals per game this season. A rebounding machine as well, Swanson is comfortable playing against larger post players and holding her own. The footwork she displays to hold a box out is next level. This season she is averaging 11 rebounds per game. In a game against Belmont, Swanson grabbed 15 boards.
