With most classes in Washington, the center position can be really hit or miss. Some years will have a few high level D1 centers like the class of 2019 or 2020, but others will lack depth. The class of 2023 is scarce at the true center position and the lone weak point in an otherwise exceptionally talented class. Berrett is a strong post with a frame that can absorb or lay out some really strong contact in the paint. The Stanwood High School standout, just a little north of Seattle, is a true throwback center with her size and physicality. She has slowly but surely gotten better each year that has passed since I first saw her in eighth grade. Her footwork, balance and hands are all coming along and will only continue to improve with time. She seems like a hard working and good spirited kid that will just continue to work. She’s had the attention of some Division 1 schools for a little bit of time now and that will only continue to gain traction over time.
Berrett recently participated with the NW Greyhounds at the Grind Session alongside a strong core of 2021 players that are either signed and/or committed already. She is a prospect to continue to track for college coaches over the course of the next year and a half.
