Kaiya Wynn-6’0 G (Foster) Tennessee
Wynn is a transfer I knew nothing about and after directing the film, I see why she’s one of the top scorers in Texas. She’s a big guard that overpowers defenders, she can attack with either hand and finish with either hand, after contact yet she also does a good job of creating her shot and knocking it down but she doesn’t force anything and she doesn’t have to
Kyndall Hunter Kyndall Hunter 5'8" | SG Cypress Creek | 2021 State #23 Nation TX -5’8 SG (Cypress Creek) Texas
Hunter has the right last name because she has gone after it and “captured it” over the years. I always flashback to the first time I saw her play, yeah I said she was #D1Lock in the 6th grade, that’s a gift I have yet she has an abundance of gifts that she worked on over the years like her pull-up jumper in transition, it is a work of art watching her elevate and release
Rori Harmon Rori Harmon 5'7" | PG Cypress Creek | 2021 State #12 Nation TX -5’7 PG (Cypress Creek) Texas
Harmon falls into something I’ve said over the years that the novice won’t comprehend, “you go from good to great when you make those around you better” and hearing her yell to her teammate “run” on the break is a perfect example because she’s a vocal leader, she directs traffic and she’s a wizard handling the ball, not to mention her crisp “no look” passes on the money but her body control is second to none and that jumper…
Evelyn Quiroz-5’5 PG (United) Texas A&M International
Quiroz is a heady point guard that sold me the first time I caught her, she’ll be added to the updated 2021 list and her smoothness under pressure is one of the big reasons. I always say, “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” and evidently that still goes over most heads yet seeing her “compete” and “excel” against some of the top guards in various settings was the key, well one of them because she can handle the ball, she sees the floor and scores multiple ways, plus she wants the ball in the clutch and she delivers
Zoe Nelson Zoe Nelson 6'1" | PF Hendrickson | 2021 State TX -6’0 SF (Hendrickson) senior
Nelson is one of the top unsigned players which shows many haven’t been doing their homework. She can play all 5 positions which means definitely 2 or 3 in college and her senior season has been LIT. She would rather get teammates involved, she’s done that her whole career yet she’s simply gone completely off and taken games over from deep threes to attacking and finishing, plus she can control a game defensively
Blake Matthews-5’5 PG (Atascocita) junior
Matthews is one of the most improved players this season and from being a distributing to a devastating offensive machine speaks volumes. She’s explosive with the ball, run with her in the open court and she’ll get it to you yet she can also stop on a dime and pop the mid to long-range. She elevates on her jumper, her release is quick and she just takes over down the stretch
Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX -5’5 CG (Lutheran North) sophomore
Carter had me take a quick peek at yesteryear when I called her a #D1Lock in the 3rd grade, the only player I called sooner was my own daughter after the nurse slapped her at birth and she slapped the nurse back, so I knew she had quick hands but Carter transferred from Barbers Hill and is cutting more than hair as she just scores at Will and shows no Grace with her variety of offensive skills
Aliyah Carter Aliyah Carter 5'7" | SG Hendrickson | 2023 State TX -5’7 CG (Hendrickson) sophomore
Carter transferred from Cedar Park and immediately gave Hendrickson a boost as they’ve won 14 straight since her arrival after losing the first two games, compute that. She’s a sparkplug that ignites her teammates in whatever setting because that type of energy trickles down and it’s contagious but her playing the passing lane and defending gives her numerous layups because she’s fast with the ball, she can score from mid to long-range, and is “ice under pressure”
