With the start of the abbreviated girls basketball season just a couple of weeks away, we decided to rank New Jersey’s best players. Normally, player rankings are done by class. For the purpose of this eight-part series, we grouped everyone together.
Let’s debate!
6. Aalyah Del RosarioAalyahDel Rosario6'5" | CTrenton Catholic | 2023State#5NationNJ, Trenton Catholic: Scary thought – the 6-6 Del Rosario is only a sophomore. She is the second-ranked player in the Class of 2023 by ESPN. She is a terror on the boards, finishes around the basket and is a rim protector.
7. Alexa TherienAlexaTherien6'1" | SFCherokee | 2021StateNJ, Cherokee: The 6-2 senior forward was the top player in South Jersey a year ago. The Boston University commit averaged over 15 points and nine rebounds and is expected to compete for player of the year honors this season.
8. Saniah Caldwell
SaniahCaldwell5'8" | PGSaddle River Day | 2022State#52NationNJ, Saddle River Day: The junior had some of the best stats in the state a year ago. Simply put, she does it all on the offensive side of the floor and her defense is equally impressive.
9. Paulina Paris, Saddle River Day: The junior transfer

9. Paulina Paris, Saddle River Day: The junior transfer from Albertus Magnus automatically makes Saddle River the team to beat in the Garden State. She has arguably been the top player in New York the past two years. The high-scoring lead guard will team with Caldwell to give Saddle River one of the best backcourts in the country.
10.
Zoe BrooksZoeBrooks5'8" | CGTrenton Catholic | 2023StateNJ, Trenton Catholic: Last season, Brooks was the only freshman selected to the NJ.com All-State team. Along with Del Rosario, she returns to headline a stacked TCA squad. She handles the ball, gets buckets and excels at making plays for others.
