Amiya Joyner Amiya Joyner 6'3" | PF Farmville Central | 2022 State #67 Nation NC (Farmville Central forward, 2022)
As usual, Farmville Central forward Amiya Joyner Amiya Joyner 6'3" | PF Farmville Central | 2022 State #67 Nation NC continued to prove why she’s one of the top 2022 prospects in the country. North Johnston couldn’t keep her off the glass and she was a two-way force making plays on both ends. Joyner led all scorers with 26 points, 22 of those scored in the first two quarters. Joyner holds offers from several high major D1 programs and rightfully so.
Journee McDaniel Journee McDaniel 6'0" | CG Farmville Central | 2022 State NC (Farmville Central guard, 2022)
In addition to Joyner, the Jaguars have a pair of talented 2022 guards, starting with Journee McDaniel Journee McDaniel 6'0" | CG Farmville Central | 2022 State NC who made an instant impact off the bench. Her size as a combo guard is a matchup problem for most opposing guards and she can score in a myriad of ways. McDaniel defends multiple positions, pushes the pace in transition and makes the right reads at guard. She’s one of the top guards in North Carolina and should see a big recruiting boost in the coming months.
Janiyah Willoughby (Farmville Central guard, 2022)
An unsung hero of the success Farmville Central has seen in recent years is junior guard Janiyah Willoughby. Her ability to beat defenders off the dribble and be a really good shot creator helps the Jaguars offense in many ways. When she’s hitting shots, it opens up the floor for her teammates to get good looks as well. In several aspects, Willoughby is one of the more underrated prospects in Eastern North Carolina.
Kenisha Barnes (North Johnston forward, 2022)
Junior forward Kenisha Barnes seemed to be North Johnston’s only offense for most of the night against a stout Jaguars defense. She kept getting behind the defense on a couple of back door cuts that led to layups to keep her team in it during the first half. Barnes will need to be a big contributor this season on a Panthers team that made the state playoffs last season.
