In this article I re-open the film vault to get back into the swing of things. Unfortunately my day job has dominated my time so far this year but I am back and ready to go! In this article we look at a nice group of 2024’s from Unity, a couple of underappreciated shooters in the 2022 class and one of the best 2021’s still on the look for a college home.
Raegen Stringer 5’2 2024 Point Guard from Unity. Raegen is a nice young player that shows upside a point guard. She handles the ball well and makes good decisions in the open floor. Raegen also does a good job of attempting to deliver her passes in the right spot by leading the receiver to the right spot. She has a nice shot that she will take with confidence in the mid range. Raegen is early in her stages of development with her strength and quickness but shows the instincts and ability to be a college prospect.
Addi Ray is a 5’9 2024 Wing from Unity. Addi shows some strength and athletic ability that she uses well on the floor. She shows a good understanding of driving lanes and where she get to the rim. Once she is in the lane Addi has the ability to finish at the rim and also uses a nice floater with good touch. Addi has good instincts and can find the open player and makes nice passes. She plays good defense and is a very smart player that has learned the game well so far. The question will be how tall does she get and how does her athletic ability develop to determine where she fits in as a player.
Katey Moore is a 5’10 2024 Forward from Unity. Katey is a long player that does some of her best work through effort plays in lane and on the offensive boards. She does a good job of staying active and trying to find open spots for position to post up or get rebounds. Like post players are taught at a young age Katey does a nice job of keeping the ball high when she catches to speed up shot and to stop the defense from being able to reach in and steal the ball. Katey has a long way to go to fill out her frame and see how much she will grow but this young 4/5 is showing some potential.
Megan Williams Megan Williams 5'10" | CG Normal West | 2022 State IL is a 5’9 2022 Wing from Normal West. Megan is a very good pure shooter that has a nice stroke that is consistent from anywhere on the floor. She can hit the mid range and shots in the lane but her specialty is the 3-pointer. If Megan has the space and her feet set she is deadly at times. She is definitely the type of player that small colleges should be looking at to fill a role. Megan can do more than shoot which is where her added value comes in. She is smart and plays a great team game showing the ability to pass and play good position defense.
Kate Littleton Kate Littleton 5'6" | CG Paris | 2022 State IL is a 5’7 2022 Guard from Paris. Kate does two things very well. She runs the floor well and finds creative and acrobatic ways to finish at the rim. Second she can shoot the rock. Kate has deep range, a textbook follow through and the ability to create space with a dribble and shoot with good accuracy on the move. Kate has played in a good program with good instruction so she plays a smart and effective game by passing to open players and being in good defensive positions on the floor. Because of her size she is most likely a small college prospect, but definitely a player to be watched at that level.
Tayler Barry Tayler Barry 5'5" | CG Tri County | 2021 State IL is a 5’6 2021 Guard from Tri-County. Tayler is a very quick player that has shown the ability to score in bunches. She is best in an open court where she can use the nice combination of ball handling skills with her high level of athleticism. While she plays at the 1A level Tayler has skills that can translate to any level. Tayler has a repeatable shot that she can hit from deep and will be a weapon for her at the next level. Defensively she uses her quickness to be a constant form of irritation to the other team. Tayler can get steals with quick hands and with her quick feet in the passing lanes. When she attacks the basket Tayler has the ability to finish in the mid range and at the rim. She is certainly a prospect for colleges to get a look at if then can as she is one of the more well known 2021 players still on the board.
