Coach Cherish Stringfellow commands the sidelines after getting word that her squad will have a season this year. Known to put up some points, this Lady Burros team plays with tenacity. They get after you on D, they finish at the hoop, they knock down the open 3s. They leave you banged and bruised after playing 32 minutes.
The Lady Burros are one of the most talented teams in Metro Nashville. Waiting to tip-off next week, these Lady Burros are hungry. Not just for a distinct title, but a state title at that. Coach Stringfellow compliments her team as they have been trying to be creative and stay in shape through all the COVID-10 protocols. Now they are primed and ready to hit the hardwood, unleashing a spectacular show that features many talented young student-athletes.
Cori Allen Cori Allen 5'10" | SG Montverde Academy | 2023 State FL (SO, CG)- This 5’10 ballplayer unleashes an arsenal of different weapons when playing the game. She poses a threat no matter where she is on the court. It could be on the defensive end or the offensive end, Cori will be after the rock one way or another. She is a dominant force and one of the best not only in her class but in the state. She is highly touted and her impressive body of work can lead her towards being one of the best to do don a uniform in the state of Tennessee.
Latisha Parris (JR., CG)– This 5’8 combo guard is athletic. She handles the ball really well. Coach Stringfellow raved about how her offense has improved over the course of the year. LP is hungry and ready to help carve out her role on this very talented team.
Carleigh Wilson Carleigh Wilson 5'10" | CG Oakland | 2022 State TN (Jr., CG)– This 5’10 combo guard compliments everyone’s game. She can knock down shots from all three levels on the court. She can feed the low post, and quickly spot-up somewhere else to knock down the shot. She plays with heart on the defensive end, so each night will be a battle for her opponent. She too has an impressive body of work that college coaches rave about.
Kimora Lockett Kimora Lockett 5'7" | PG Hillsboro | 2023 State TN ( SO, PG)– This 5’7 floor general is the conductor of the group. She leads the breaks, she makes dazzling passes, she gets after it on defense, and she can shoot the ball at a high clip.
Tasia Williamson (SO., C)– This 6’1 student-athlete anchors the middle of the floor for the Lady Burros. She controls the boards on both ends, has a nice mid-range game and is an enforcer on defense. Tasia has the ability to get a double-double every night.
Kamil Washum Kamil Washum 5'4" | PG Hillsboro | 2023 State TN ( So., PG)– This girl can flat out GO. She displays impressive ballhandling skills that equate to finding open teammates as she is able to slice through the defense. Her high motor makes her a threat on both ends of the court. She can get to the rim and has a nice shot to compliment her game.
Raegan Starks (FR., CG)– Talented freshman ready to contribute to this impressive Lady Burros team. Raegan can shoot the ball well from all three levels on the court. She looks to bring her fierce competitiveness to the defensive end, where she likes to use her high basketball IQ to jump passes, leading to breaks on the other end. Look for Raegan to get better as she gets more time on the floor.
Though the Lady Burros will have a short regular season due to COVID, these girls won’t let things out of their control deter their outlook. They are hungry to get back on the hardwood and compete. These Lady Burros have something to prove and are ready to take on anyone in their way as they try to accomplish all the goals they have set. Together, this team is ready for something big. The PGH Tennessee trajectory arrow is pointing up for an impressive program that is ready to make some noise throughout the state.
