Annette Ramirez, 5’5 Sarcoxie 2021 – Ramirez has always been a prolific scorer averaging well over 20 a game last season and this one, but in a recent game against Crane, she scored 54 points. That’s FIFTY FOUR points! And it was against a legit team as Crane is one of the better small school teams in southwest Missouri. In her previous game, she had scored 45 points and her previous career high was 51. Ramirez gets buckets in so many ways it’s hard to keep track of, she has an array of nifty ways to get her shot off around the basket and in the lane, gets layups off of steals, has a nice mid range pullup jumper and of course is deadly from 3 point land. Ramirez is averaging 28 ppg, 7 rpg and just under 5 spg so far during her senior year. She has received some D3 offers thus far and is still flying under the radar immediately outside of her local area.
Brooklyn Luna Brooklyn Luna 5'4" | PG Fair Grove | 2021 State MO , 5’6 Fair Grove 2021 – Luna put up a big triple double in a game against Climax Springs in the Skyline Tournament, finishing with 20 pts, 14 assists and 11 steals in their 69-58 win over a solid team. Luna pairs up nicely with sophomore 6’ post Kameron Green Kameron Green 5'4" | PG Fair Grove | 2023 State MO , who finished with 34 points in that game, many off of quick passes from Luna. Time and time again Luna would find Green or another open teammate in transition, she is very good at seeing the seams in the defense and zipping the quick one handed pass through traffic. She uses her quickness and anticipation to get steals which often leads to layups for either herself or a teammate. Luna is signed to play for Missouri Valley next season.
Mariah Robinson, 5’6 Clever 2022 – Robinson put up 38 points in that same Skyline tournament, against Luna’s Fair Grove team ironically. Clever lost the game in overtime but Robinson made some huge shots to get her team into overtime and keep them in it. Robinson is just a walking bucket machine, she is very tough to stop in transition or going to the basket, even against a couple of defenders. She has an uncanny knack for slithering past or underneath the defender and making layups or floaters or drawing the foul. She relishes contact and knows how to draw it and knocks down over 70% from the foul line and has a serious nose for the ball. She also has improved her 3 point shot over her high school career and should pass the 1,000 point mark for her high school career later on this season. She is as mentally and physically tough as they come and is averaging over 20 ppg on the season after averaging 17 ppg last season for Hillcrest before the transfer to Clever.
Lacy Stokes Lacy Stokes 5'4" | CG Mt. Vernon | 2021 State MO , 5’6 Mt Vernon 2021 – Stokes is probably the fastest player in the area and uses that speed and quickness in all areas. She can get past most anyone on drives to the basket and excels in transition, both scoring and passing. She crashes the boards on both ends and can get to balls before anyone else does and she plays the passing lanes superbly on the defensive end, getting steal after steal, often leading to scores at the other end. Mt Vernon often struggles in the first halves of games but led by Stokes, they have an uncanny knack for turning it on in the second halves of games. Against Branson in the first round of the Stockton tournament, Stokes put up obscene numbers… 32 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 9 steals, leading her team to the 69-31 win. More than any other player in the area, she is capable of a quadruple double or at least coming close, as she did that game. Stokes is signed to play with Missouri Southern after her illustrious high school career ends.
