Below is a list of sophomores who are having impressive passing performances this season. Each one of these players bring a high level of playmaking to their given teams.
Reese Rogowski | Wittenberg- Birnamwood | 5’7
The Wittenberg- Birnamwood lead guard has all of the tools to breakout as an impact player for the years on this squad. She’s an outstanding two way talent and great strength when attacking the rim. She finishes strong against contact and can capitalize on the free throw line. She has great timing on her passes and is smart when passing inside the lane. Rogowski is averaging 4.5 assists per game. In a win over Nekoosa, Rogowski dished out a season-high 7 assists.
Lindsay Steien Lindsay Steien 5'9" | CG Blair- Taylor | 2023 State WI | Blair- Taylor | 5’9
Steien is a gifted athlete with speed and agility to put up huge numbers each night. She’s a high energy guard who makes his teammates better. She pushes the tempo and gets her shot off quick. Her understanding of how the game works is strong as she has elite movement with and without the basketball. Steien has improved her playmaking and can thread the needle with her passing abilities. This season she is averaging 5 assists per game.
Tayah Christopher | Eau Claire North | 5’10
Christopher has a high upside as her positional height is perfect for this level and the next. She’s a well balanced guard that can do it all on the court for this team. She can score the basketball well but thrives on her ability to be a team player on both ends of the floor. She’s a defensive machine- grabbing over 20 steals in the first seven games this season. She finds her teammates well within the offense. She is averaging 6.5 assists per game. In a win over Superior, Christopher dished out 12 assists.
Macy Donarski Macy Donarski 5'7" | PG Aquinas | 2023 State WI | Aquinas | 5’8
Donarski ranks at the top of her class in her ability to playmake on the floor. She has incredible instincts and can read the court better than anyone I’ve watched this season. Donarski requires a lot of attention offensively as she averages nearly 20 points per game. Being this impressive scoring the basketball, Donarski has learned to dish to the open man when pressure is high. She is averaging 6 assists per game. In a win over Holmen, Donarski dished out 9 assists.
Laney Havlovitz Laney Havlovitz 5'5" | PG Wild Rose | 2023 State WI | Wild Rose | 5’6
The Wild Rose standout has been an offensive machine this season. She is averaging 19 points per game. She’s improved her three point percentage this year and has hit some big shots. She has a smooth stroke and is patient before attempting something long range. She does a very good job attacking the rim and finishing mid range. She’s extremely quick and is fantastic at reading her opponent to deflect passes and make important steals. She is averaging nearly 6 steals per game. A facilitator as well, Havlovitz dishes out 6 assists per game with over 35 on the season already.
Sadie Jarmolowicz | Freedom | 5’9
The point guard has fantastic court vision and ability to read and communicate with her teammates. She works well with her post players and utilizes the bounce pass well to get the ball inside. She also has shown glimpses of full court passing and finding the open man in transition. This season she is averaging nearly 5 assists per game. In a win over Marinette, Jarmolowicz dished out 8 assists.
Julianna Ouimette Julianna Ouimette 5'9" | CG Lakeland | 2023 State WI | Lakeland | 5’10
The standout point guard continues to become more impressive as she adds more to her bag. A gifted athlete with speed, balance and composure- Ouimette is already showing how impactful she will be at this level and the levels beyond. She’s a scoring machine with crafty finish moves and the ability to score from all three levels. Her ability to use her court vision and high IQ to find her teammates open within the offense stands out most. She’s able to score huge numbers and could easily carry her team to wins- however she involves her teammates and it comes in handy when playing tougher teams who will face guard. She is averaging nearly 5 assists per game. In a win over Medford, Ouimette dished out 8 assists.
