Their opponent, Lutheran North, has been on a tear since they received transfer Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX who has been dropping around 30 ppg for the season and they have a couple of other transfers waiting to be cleared, freshman Shunteria Davis as well as a defensive stopper Jade Miller Jade Miller 5'6" | PG Manvel | 2022 State TX but here are some of the standouts
The Village School
Jada Malone Jada Malone 6'3" | PF The Village School | 2021 State #30 Nation TX
Malone was virtually unstoppable as she scored in just about every way imaginable including the long ball. Her continuous progression since middle school, her work ethic, and her mindset have all played a part in what she has become and it will translate over to the next level but watching her battle in the paint, on both ends as well as her hands and footwork not to mention her defense, whether it was inside the paint or stepping out on the perimeter, I have seen the transformation as she heads to Aggieland
Aiken Semones-5’6 G
Semones captivated me in the 3rd or 4th grade watching her drop the long ball so I knew before it was all said and done, she would have left her mark as one of the areas top long ball shooters and as usual, I was correct yet I wasn’t taking stats or scores and when I saw she had dropped three from BTA, I was really impressed because she got them in the flow. She showed the midrange, she attacked as well as attacked and dished not to leave out she played solid defense all will fit nicely at Hardin-Simmons
Tymberlin Criswell Tymberlin Criswell 5'8" | CG The Village | 2021 State TX
Criswell has evolved from a long and athletic slicer and scorer to run a team and at their signing, her head coach, Doug Brotherton, spoke about challenging her to become the best point guard in TAPPS, well the won it all last season and she played a big part and one play just told me what to expect from her at SMU, she was driving full speed and threaded the needle between three players for an assist, not to leave out she had a hand in her face but just seeing the floor and making the pass says a lot
RyLee Grays RyLee Grays 6'3" | PF The Village School | 2023 State #17 Nation TX
Grays came in with that “I won’t be denied” mindset and seeing her battle over and over in the paint for boards, sometimes on the same possession was just alarming, for players battling against her, not me, I’ve seen it develop over the years. I love how she’s finishing with either hand, after contact, as well as attacking the rim from various angles but with her being a sophomore and the gradual improvement in all aspects of her game since I guess the 6th grade, not to leave out her strength and power, prepare for the #BEAST
Lutheran North
Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX
Carter falls into that “sensational sophomore” part and she plays it to a tee. When I lock you in at D1 in elementary school, 4th grade I believe, I just sit back and watch the progression and see what level and she’s definitely making #BCS with ease. She has unlimited range, she creates her shot with ease while being doubled and tripled teamed which enables her to hit her teammates for easy attempts yet her explosiveness off the dribble, that turbo she adds to the “big step” when she attacks, not to leave out the body control
