Some of the top players in the county will be taking the court once the 2021 season tips off. Let’s take a look at the top Passaic County players heading into the year.
Hailey Cabanas, Wayne Valley, Jr. – Cabanas becomes one of Wayne Valley’s go-to players following 11 double-figure games. She had a season-high 23 points come against Paterson Kennedy, and she knocked down 30 triples on the year, including five in a game against Wayne Hills.
Kaitlyn Collins, Lakeland, Sr. – Collins becomes one of Lakeland’s top players this season. The senior had a season-high 25 points against Manchester Regional, and she finished with 74 steals, including nine against Wayne Hills last January.
Samantha Ferreras, Paterson Kennedy, Jr. – Ferreras averaged 12 points and 5.0 rebounds last season for Paterson Kennedy. The junior hit 44 3-pointers last season, the most being six on the way to a 27-point performance against Wayne Valley. Ferreras also put in 29 points against Piscataway.
Camille Arias, Manchester Regional, Sr. – Following the losses of key players Shani Gerald, Jasmine McDuffie Jasmine McDuffie 5'11" | PF Manchester Regional | 2020 State NJ and Aziza Whitaker, Arias becomes the leader for a Manchester Regional group that won 23 games last season. She hit 52 3-pointers and went for double figures 13 times.
Symiaha Brown-Cobb, Paterson Eastside, So. – Brown-Cobb averaged 13.3 points per game and scored 20 or more points four times. She was a capable rebounder and facilitator, totaling 10 or more assists twice. Brown-Cobb hit five 3-pointers against Passaic Tech and four each against Hawthorne, Passaic and Wayne Valley.
Taylor Hill, Passaic Valley, Sr. – Hill was a prolific scorer with 18.5 points per game for Passaic Valley. She hit double figures in every game but three, and she connected on 44 3-pointers. Hill is a four-year varsity player, and she has already reached 1,000 points in her high school career. She can go for 30-40 points any night, and Hill will look to close out her career on a high note for Passaic Valley.
