Let’s take a look at the top Shore Conference players entering the 2021 season.
Madison St. Rose Madison St. Rose 5'10" | PG St. John Vianney | 2022 State #65 Nation NJ , St. John Vianney, Jr. – St. Rose was one of the top players in the state last year for powerhouse St. John Vianney. She averaged 18.3 points per game and finished with 36 points against Belmar’s St. Rose, with 15 of those coming at the foul line. St. Rose had 158 rebounds, 99 assists and had 124 steals on defense, including two double-digit steals performances. She can hit from the perimeter, attack in the mid-range game and finish at the rim. As a swift lefty, St. Rose is a tough cover for any defender.
Katie Hill Katie Hill 6'0" | SF St. John Vianney | 2021 State NJ , St. John Vianney, Sr. – Hill, a Richmond commit, averaged 11.3 points per game and hit 31 3-pointers last season for St. John Vianney. She totaled 75 steals on the season and had 20 double-figure performances.
Destiny Adams Destiny Adams 6'3" | SF Manchester | 2021 State #26 Nation NJ , Manchester Township, Sr. – Adams is one of the top players in the state. Headed to North Carolina, the Manchester Township senior averaged 18.1 points per game and 11.8 rebounds per game as a junior. She made 120 free throws, made 79 steals and had 78 blocks. Adams is a double-double machine and will be in the running for Player of the Year.
Ally Carman Ally Carman 6'5" | C Red Bank Catholic | 2022 State NJ , Red Bank Catholic, Jr. – Carman averaged 13.8 points per game for Red Bank Catholic a season ago. A Boston College commit, Carman is a post presence who can also hit in the mid-range game. She uses the glass well and positions herself for easy baskets down low. Carman hit double figures in the last eight games of the season in the 2019-20 season.
Justine Pissott Justine Pissott 6'3" | SG Red Bank Catholic | 2022 State NJ , Red Bank Catholic, Jr. – Pissott, a University of Tennessee commit, had a productive sophomore year for RBC last season. She averaged 12.5 points per game and can really get in a rhythm. She hit seven triples in a victory over St. John’s Prep (N.Y.) and six apiece in wins over Raritan and Roland Park Day (Md.).
Abigail Antognoli Abigail Antognoli 5'6" | PG St. Rose | 2021 State NJ , St. Rose, Sr. – Antognoli, a Lafayette commit, will be the go-to player for St. Rose following the loss of key players such as Brynn Farrell Brynn Farrell 6'0" | SG St. Rose | 2020 State NJ and Makayla Andrews Makayla Andrews 5'11" | SG St. Rose | 2020 State NJ . Antognoli averaged 10.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game last season. She had 74 steals and knocked down 34 3-pointers on the year.
Cortland McBarron, Rumson-Fair Haven, Sr. – McBarron averaged 10.5 points per game last season for Rumson-Fair Haven. She averaged 5.9 rebounds per game and finished with five games of 20 or more points. McBarron closed out last season with a 25-point performance in a 49-39 loss to Manasquan in the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 2 tournament final.
Brooke Hollawell Brooke Hollawell 5'6" | PG Manasquan | 2022 State NJ , Manasquan, Jr. – Hollawell averaged 13.4 points last season to lead Manasquan to 21 wins. She hit double figures in the first seven games of the season, including 29 points in a six-point win over Marlboro. She was a lethal perimeter shooter with five triples apiece in games against Marlboro, Red Bank Catholic and Rumson-Fair Haven. Manasquan won its seventh straight sectional title last season.
Chloe Teter, Red Bank Regional, Sr. – Teter, who is committed to NYU, had a great all-around junior campaign for Red Bank Regional, averaging 13.4 points per game and finishing with 125 rebounds, 91 steals and 40 3-pointers.
Jessica Riepe, Marlboro, Sr. – Riepe hit double figures 21 times in her junior season at Marlboro. She put in 25 points apiece in wins over South Brunswick and Freehold Borough. She was a lethal perimeter shooter with 97 3-pointers on the season, knocking down seven apiece in those 25-point performances. Riepe also hit six triples en route to 22 points against Middletown South, and she put in five 3-pointers in victories over Donovan Catholic, Rumson-Fair Haven and Manalapan.
Rachel Capua Rachel Capua 5'9" | SG Jackson Memorial | 2021 State NJ , Jackson Memorial, Sr. – Capua finished in double figures in every game last season for Jackson Memorial, averaging 19 points per game. She made 104 free throws, hit 62 3-pointers, made 131 rebounds and finished with 112 steals. A top scorer in the conference, Capua had 31 points against Howell, 32 points against Donovan Catholic and 27 points against Eastern.
