The class of 2021 player rankings were recently released. These are some of the players that made the most movement up the rankings list.
Ja’Leah Williams Ja’Leah Williams 5'9" | CG Blanche Ely | 2021 State FL – 5’9 Guard – Blanche Ely / Team Knight
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 3 (was # 6)
Ja’Leah was recognized as Broward County’s top player last season and has continued her stellar play throughout the spring travel season and into her Senior year with Blanche Ely. She is the catalyst for the Tigers in their pursuit of winning back-to-back state championships attacking the rim with little fear and displaying her impressive ability to blow by defenders in the open court and score in bunches. The University of Miami signee has led Blanche Ely to a 15-1 record and a # 6 national ranking.
KN’isha Godfrey – 5’9 Guard – Tampa Bay Tech / Essence
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 5 (was # 24)
Godfrey situation is a little different as we moved her up the rankings to # 5 from # 24 but she is not in high school anymore. The 5’9 guard enrolled early in college after signing a full scholarship with Mississippi State. Based on her play with Essence in the summer of 2019 and her play with Tampa Bay Tech during her Junior season in 2019-20 where she averaged 12.1 points, 3.8 steals, 3.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game where she led her team to three district titles, two regional championships, two final four appearances in the playoffs and one state championship during her three-year career. For these reasons, we felt Godfrey should move up the ranks!
Mariana Valenzuela Mariana Valenzuela 6'2" | PF Montverde Academy | 2021 State FL – 6’2 Forward – Montverde Academy
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 6 (was # 13)
Valenzuela is a Florida State signee who can play inside and out. The versatile and skilled forward impacts the game on both end of the floor and can move around to different spots on the floor depending on matchups. She is very effective at the high post and playing in the short corner as a face up player but also can slide down to the low post and block to score on the interior.
Mikyla Tolivert Mikyla Tolivert 5'7" | CG Palm Bay | 2021 State FL – 5’7 Guard – Palm Bay Magnet / East Coast United
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 19 (was # 20)
Tolivert has followed her big Junior season with an encore for her Senior year. She recently surpassed the 2,000 career point mark and at 5’8 can play multiple positions and score from just about anywhere on the court. She is currently averaging 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 4.1 steals per game.
Isys Grady Isys Grady 5'11" | SF Mainland | 2021 State FL – 5’11 Wing – Mainland HS / DME Travel
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 20 (was # 36)
Grady length and athleticism make her an exceptional two-way player. On defense she uses her length and athleticism to get in passing lanes as well as lock up defenders and deter shots in the paint. Offensively she has a quick first step, and can slash to the rim and finish above defenders challenging her shot.
Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL – 5’10 Guard – Westminster Academy / Team Knight
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 25 (was # 38)
It feels like Wallhoff has been in high school for 10 years since she has started varsity since 7th grade. The 5’10 guard is one of the state’s top three-point shooters and basically is in her shooting range once she enters the gym. She is the team’s leader and does it all for her squad. She signed with Mississippi State and will be able to help her future school space the floor with her deadly outside shooting.
Jordan Rosier Jordan Rosier 5'7" | CG Florida State | 2021 State FL – 5’9 Guard – Florida State / Central Florida Elite
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 43 (was # 47)
Rosier is headed to South Alabama next season but in the meantime, she is trying to lead Florida State University High School to a state championship. The 5’9 guard is averaging 15.3 points per game, scoring in double digits in all but two games this season including back-to-back 22 point performances vs Godby and Florida A&M in December. She is a skilled perimeter player who uses her strength vs opponents to finish vs contact and is a solid rebounder for the guard position.
Mesi Triplett Mesi Triplett 6'3" | C West Oaks Academy | 2021 State FL – 6’3 Center – West Oaks Academy / FBC Nightmares
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 46 (was # 99)
At # 99, Triplett was just too low in the rankings to not recognize how she impacts the game. At 6’3 she impacts the game as a scorer but impacts the game more as a rebounder and shot blocker. She is long, athletic, and continues to improve as she plays the game more and becomes stronger and grows into her body. Her future college head coach Brooke Stoehr had this to say about Mesi “Mesi brings size and athleticism to this signing class. She has the ability to score in the paint and disrupt on the defensive end of the floor. Mesi is aggressive and will bring a scoring and rebounding mentality to the team.”
Daniella Aronsky Daniella Aronsky 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2021 State FL – 5’8 Guard – American Heritage (Plantation) / Miami Suns
Prep Girls Hoops Florida Ranking: 47 (was # 65)
Aronsky has been the catalyst to American Heritage success the past few years running the point guard position and distributing the ball to open players with her excellent court vision, selfless play, and high basketball IQ while selectively finding ways to knock down an open 3-pointer and score on her own. Her play has allowed her squad continued success having won several state championships and in pursuit of one final one in her Senior year. The 5’8 guard will attend Emory University in Georgia next season where she will play basketball and pursue her academic endeavors as well.
