The top five a solid group of future Division 1 players, with one already suited up for college and performing at a high level! Below are the updated top five rankings for Washington’s 2021 class.
Updated Top 5:
1) 5’11 SG Talia von Oelhoffen Talia von Oelhoffen 5'11" | SG Chiawana | 2021 State #22 Nation WA (Chiawana HS) *Enrolled and playing at Oregon State University
- The state’s top prospect and national level recruit has enrolled and joined the Beavers of Oregon State University. She is coming off the bench and playing good basketball in her “pre-freshman” season. Due to the NCAA’s ruling, no players this year will be losing a year of eligibility for this season, so the 4-star recruit has essentially a free season to play and will be listed as a freshman again next season. She has already shown her three point shooting ability and passing acumen when she is playing on the ball. The clear cut top prospect in Washington’s 2021 class.
2) 5’5 CG Julianna Walker Julianna Walker 5'5" | PG Annie Wright | 2021 State WA (Annie Wright School) *Signed to Syracuse University
- Walker may have her chance of breaking the state’s all time scoring record if Washington can truly find any way to have a season without having any hiccups. For the last three years, Walker has dominated 1A level competition shooting from 4-5 feet behind the three line and getting steal after steal to score in transition. She will suit up for Syracuse of the ACC in the 2021-2022 season.
3) 5’11 PF Mia Hughes Mia Hughes 5'11" | PF Woodinville | 2021 State WA (Woodinville HS) *Signed to Montana State University
- Hughes has been one of the hardest working and most dominant players of the 4A class since her freshman season. A true combination of grit, hustle and desire in her 5’11 frame has helped her to a successful individual and team career for Woodinville High School. Several colleges took notice, but she found her fit at Montana State University, one of the top programs in the Big Sky.
4) 6’2 PF Trista Hull Trista Hull 6'2" | PF La Salle | 2021 State WA (La Salle HS) *Signed to Boise State University
- The most skilled post player in the state at 6’2 with her ability to finish with either hand and score over either shoulder. She has the strep throughs, face-up game and midrange shot that will bode well for her at the next level. Hull led La Salle High School to a state championship in 2019 over current Lousiville star freshman, Hailey Van Lith Hailey Van Lith 5'7" | PG Cashmere | 2020 State WA . She will not get another opportunity at a state title, but she is back healthy and strong and will hopefully get some live reps in before joining the Broncos of Boise State.
5) 5’11 SF Tamia Stricklin Tamia Stricklin 5'11" | SF Seattle Prep | 2021 State WA (Seattle Prep) *Signed to Fresno State University
- The future Fresno State Bulldog has put together a really steady career in the Metro League helping Seattle Prep to three state tournament runs. She was consistent with her double digit scoring each and every season to go along with good rebounding and unselfish play. She projects to be a really solid piece for Fresno State and she has high expectations leading into her freshman season as she will be looked to for defense, rebounding and hustle plays. *Feature image
