In our top five you will find state champions, All-State members, All-Conference members. McDonald’s All-American participants and record holders.
Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda 6'2" | SF Sioux Falls Washington | 2022 State SD #1 6’2 Sioux Falls Washington When you see Ndjakalenga you see a ball player. She walks like a ball player, talks like a ball player and for sure hoops like a ball player. At 6’2, she has the offensive skills as a combo guard and the defensive skills as a center. Mwenentada was invited to the McDonald’s All-American trials. She’s ranked in the Top 25 on ESPNW and has a top 10 school list of UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, Iowa St, Louisville, Duke, Maryland, Clemson, Vanderbilt and Texas.
Bella Swedlund Bella Swedlund 5'8" | CG Winner | 2022 State SD #2 5’9 Winner The last few years Swedlund has a state title (Undefeated). Was undefeated last year entering the state tournament. Became the All-Time leading scorer and has only 2 loses this year. Oh, and racked up about 15 D1 offers during the time. After she tore her ACL she never forgot about the grind. Its shows in how she prepares for the game. A complete gym rat!
Hannah Ronsiek Hannah Ronsiek 5'11" | SG O'Gorman | 2022 State SD #3 5’11 O’Gorman A genuinely nice person off the court. However, on the court is a different thing. Ronsiek is a feisty competitor. She likes the competition to go after her, so she can then return the favor. At 5’11 she has a nice size to play the two and three. She looks longer than what her height reports and uses that to her advantage. A slashing type of skillset mixed in with a knock down shooter spells trouble. That’s exactly what Ronsiek is, trouble for her opponent.
Madelyn Bragg Madelyn Bragg 6'3" | C Aberdeen Roncalli | 2022 State SD #4 6’2 Aberdeen, Roncalli Bragg moves and plays like a college player. Once in the post she has a really good faceup game. She commands a double team every single time. A stiff post is not a way to describe Bragg. Fluid in her movements, baseline to baseline, elbow to the wing and all around the rim.
Kaela Martinez Kaela Martinez 5'7" | CG Sioux Fall Roosevelt | 2022 State SD #5 5’8 Sioux Falls Roosevelt Martinez is still a wizard with the ball. Ball handling skills are expertise type. This year she added the three ball to her game. Not an over the top three point shooter but highly effective.
