Below is a list of Sophomores who had impressive performances this week.
February 1st-6th.
Sheridan Noeldner | Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran | 5’5 PG
A key playmaker for her team this season, Noeldner has stepped up and is playing her role very well. She’s impressive in the half court and is able to facilitate the offense well- getting herself and her teammates fantastic looks to score the basketball. She’s a player to watch as she’s going to continue to improve as she sharpens her skills. In a victory of New Auburn, the sophomore led her team with 20 points and hit four 3-pointers.
Annamarie Aue Annamarie Aue 5'10" | PF Auburndale | 2023 WI | Auburndale | 5’9 W
Aue is a player who can be extremely dynamic on the floor with this team. She’s able to show her creativity in her drives to the basket as well as on the block. She has the strength to be an impact post player in the Marawood- South conference but has become so comfortable and versatile going downhill. She has a smooth stroke from behind the arc as well and will knock it down off the pass. In a victory over Newman Catholic this week, Aue scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Violet Morren | Hillsboro | C
Morren has been a force inside the paint this season for Hillsboro. She’s a rebounding specialist on both ends of the floor. She has the athleticism to play a lot of minutes for this team and contribute in a high paced offense. In a victory over New Lisbon this season, Morren finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
Arianna Smith | Shorewood | F
Smith puts up huge numbers every night for this Shorewood team and has stepped onto the floor and become an impact athlete. She consistently produces on offense and has been averaging nearly 19 points per game. She can knock down the mid-range basket and has continued to develop on the perimeter as well. She’s going to be a key reason why Shorewood becomes a threat in the Woodland conference. In a victory over Whitnall this week, Smith finished with 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Ella Kern | New Berlin West | 5’9 F
Kern is a fantastic all around athlete who does many things right on the court. She can defend well on the perimeter but is strong enough and experienced enough to be dominant playing post defense. She’s able to cause many steals by her energetic style of play and active hands. On the offensive end she is a sniper from behind the arc- she’s made nearly 40 three point baskets this season and does not shy away from shooting with a defender in her face. In a victory over Greendale this week, the sophomore led her team in scoring with 17 points.
Lily Truchon Lily Truchon 5'11" | PG South Shore | 2023 State WI | South Shore | 5’10 W
In a victory over Solon Springs, the sophomore finished with 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead her team. She is an elite shooting wing/guard combo that will make an immediate impact every time she steps onto the floor. She’s an excellent catch-and-shoot player who can also shoot well off the dribble if she can step into the shot. She is multi-dimensional and an overall exciting athlete to watch compete as she brings to many things to the floor.
