New England’s Underclassmen Standouts
In a current basketball world full of uncertainty, New England’s had no shortage of Drama this Winter as well. Through, Covid-19 we’ve seen shortened seasons, Late starts and plenty of cancellations. But, diamonds are created under pressure and these young ladies are shining Bright early, leading the way for a very loaded young Group of Talent In New England!
Natalia Rosa 6’0/ Randolph High school/ 24’ /Baystate Jags
Rosa is certainly one of the Top players from the class of 2024 in Mass. and possibly New England. She combines a rare gift of brute strength around the basket finishing through defenders when opposed at the rim, with the Ability to extend out to three point range on a consistent basis. Possibly, her best attribute at this early stage is the ability to Transition from Grabbing Defensive rebounds to initiate offense in the open court. Making sound decisions in most occasions. Rosa does not shy away from contact, allowing her many opportunities at the free throw line where she seems to have a nice form and soft touch. On Defense, Rosa, is the Anchor Of Randolphs zone scheme, her Great anticipation for steals lead out to a handful of easy buckets each game and Her Knack for the Ball routinely has her in Double figures for Rebounds. In The Final Five Games of Natalia’s Freshman season averaged 24pts 9rrbs 7ast. Looking for a great AAU season and open to Prep school opportunities!
Sophia Florio 5’3/West Bridgewater. MA. / 25’/
Sophia is a 8th Grader killing it at the High school varsity Level, and helping West Bridgewater go 7-0 so far this Season. In her latest outing Sophia shot 6-9 from Three point Range adding 24 points for the win. Sophia has posted Double figures in 6 of 7 games this season, with her main threat being the 3pointer if she sets her feet the results are typically a bucket. With 5ast and 3steals per game Sophia shows promise to be a all around Guard as an upper class man.
Cameron Rustt 6’2 / Worcester Academy/ combo/ 24’/ Lady Rivals 3SSB
This 6’2 freshman is an extremely talented Offensive weapon. With her ability to effect the Game inside and out Cam is a mismatch for opposing defenders. Her ability to take bigger defenders to the perimeter and attack the Rim or knack for finding her spots in the mid post and shooting over Smaller defenders, Rustt can typically get where she wants on the court. I was truly impressed with her unselfishness and willingness to run the floor consistently. Rustt has Guard like skills with the Ball in her hand and very soft touch on the jump shot out to 3point range. Extremely versatile on the Defensive end at times being able to guard all five positions. One of the best 2024 players in the Country and Top prospect in New England.
Tiara Tyson 5’9 / Manchester, CT/ hybrid forward/ 24’/ CT Spirit
Tiara makes her impact on the Game right from Tip off! Typically the fastest and strongest player on the court, Tyson attacks the basket relentlessly in the open floor with creativity and the ability to Draw fouls on opposing teams Bigs! When defending, Tyson has the ability to cause havoc and create many offensive opportunities from her ball pressure. While extending her jump shot is a opportunity of growth, she seems to find the ball for second chance points very consistently. Tiara just may be the best prospect in Connecticut for the 2024 class, we are excited to see her this Spring with a step up in competition playing for CT spirit
