The event featured some of the top high school talent in the classes of 2021 and 2022. The game was a close one with the 2022s pulling out the win late in the second half. Here’s a look at some of the top standouts from the game.
1. Simone Morris Simone Morris 5'10" | SG Long Beach Poly | 2021 State CA – Long Beach Poly 2021
Morris is a very good wing prospect who has a couple of offers already. She’s one of the better unsigned seniors and perimeter scorers in SoCal. She is a killer in the midrange, can shoot off the dribble and can face up and shoot over the defense. She can also stop and pop on the break. A good rebounder for a wing. Very comfortable with the ball in her hands and drawing contact at the rim to get to the line.
2. Demonnie Lagway Demonnie Lagway 5'9" | SF Palisades Charter | 2022 State CA – Palisades 2022
Lagway is a good wing prospect who had a great run during Palisades playoff push last season. She’s a very good scorer who is tough to stop downhill. She can break down the defense and get into the lane. She can finish at the rim through contact and is able to get to the free-throw line. A good defensive player who moves her feet well and can stick with most players on the perimeter.
3. Jailah Donald – Serra 2022
A Cal commit, Donald is a strong point guard. She’s a very talented ball-handler who is tough to contain off dribble penetration. She can get into the lane and is good with both hands. Solid passer with great vision who can get teammates easy buckets. Knows how to balance scoring and playmaking. She has a good three-point shot and is a good rebounder for a point guard.
4. Nala Williams – Long Beach Poly 2022
Williams is a tough guard as part of a very talented Jackrabbits squad. She’s a good three-point shooter who can shoot off the dribble or catch and shoot. She can handle the ball and is very unselfish, she can see the floor and find open teammates. Strong on the glass, she fights for rebounds and second shot opportunities. She can put the ball on the floor and attack.
