Here are some of the solid performances I was made aware of or witnessed as the post season is in full swing in Ohio. These athletes are from Southwest Ohio.
Sarah Ochs Sarah Ochs 5'5" | CG Dayton Carroll | 2022 State OH
{5-6 G, Dayton Carroll}
What a show she put on earlier in the week as they battled Tippecanoe for the sectional title. Sarah stepped up big in the fourth quarter hitting 10 free throws in the final eight minutes and finished with 18 points to give the Patriots a big win and advances to the district finals. Such a hard nosed floor general with a flare for the great play.
Austy Miller Austy Miller 5'6" | CG Bradford | 2022 OH
{5-6 G, Bradford}
As the Railroaders were defeating Troy Christian, Austy had her normal solid performance. She scored 16 points to lead them to the district championship game. Austy is a gutsy driven leader who can score by getting to the rim, or firing from deep range. Not afraid to let it fly.
Breann Reaman
{5-9 W, Anna}
What a performance she had to get to the districts. In a game where they needed someone to step up, Breann is the one who delivered. Scored 22 points in the win over Arcanum, while normally she is not that kind of threat. Raised her game at the right time to help her team advance.
Kyla Oldacre Kyla Oldacre 6'5" | C Mason | 2022 State #42 Nation OH
{6-6 P, Mason}
It was a game against their league rivals Lakota West, and Kyla stepped to the front of the line and delivered. She is such a physical presence and dominated the paint with 18 points on 8/14 shooting, with 11 rebounds as Mason defeated Lakota West 55-25 to advance to the districts.
Anna Long Anna Long 5'9" | SG Miamisburg | 2022 OH
{5-9 G, Miamisburg}
Tough loss to Springboro in the sectionals, but it was a special year for a very good Miamisburg team. Leading the way all year and in this game was Anna (pictured above) who dropped 25 points in the loss with four assists. She is capable of taking over a game at any time, excellent shot and can distribute the ball steadily.
Carmen Hueker
{5-6 G, Botkins}
It was a tough loss against their league rival, losing to Russia 45-44. Carmen was solid in the defeat as she showed good floor leadership and handles to run the offense. Her game continues to improve and had 16 points in their sectional loss.
Franny Pack
{5-8 G, Legacy Christian}
Talk about stepping up, Franny put together a game to remember as Legacy Christian survived a big scare from a talented Cedarville. While the two main offensive threats struggled, Pack scored 19 points with three big threes to lead the Knights into the districts.
Kaylee Braun
{5-9 G, Versailles}
Big game for Kaylee despite the loss for the Tigers in the sectionals to Carlisle. She scored 17 points and was the main offensive threat for Versailles as they lost in overtime. Like her potential going forward into her senior year as she looks to strengthen her game this summer.
Claire Henson Claire Henson 5'11" | PF Valley View | 2022 State OH
{5-10 W, Valley View}
Was a huge key as Valley View held on to defeat a vastly improved Alter team. Claire recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and is a dangerous weapon all over the court, Love her game, legit perimeter threat, can also put the ball on the floor and get to the rim.
