The 2021 class wasn’t privileged to much of a grassroots season between their Junior and Senior years, therefore many of them haven’t received as much college attention as prospects in years past. I wanted to take the time to point out the remaining uncommitted prospects in the 2021 class position by position, while highlighting five from each position group at the bottom of each article. Below is a look at the 19 point guard prospects who, to the best of my knowledge, remain uncommitted as far as a college commitment goes. There will be follow-up articles highlighting additional uncommitted prospects from the other position groups to follow very soon.

Hammond Bishop Noll | 2021

, 5-7 PG, Hammond Bishop Noll Institute
Courtney put together an explosive Senior season, highlighted by a stretch just after Christmas in which she averaged 47.8 points over a four-game span. She has always been a scoring threat with range well-beyond the 3-point line. But while she piles up the points during the high school season for Noll, she has shown the leadership and skillset it takes to run a team during the last couple of Summers with Midwest Elite. I think she has the unique ability to turn her scoring on or off depending on who surrounds her in the lineup and what role is established for her on the team she’s with. She is certainly a Division-I talent, regardless of what system she’s in or how she’s utilized.

Sometimes a change of scenery makes a difference. Brooklyn went from Greenwood Community High School to GCA this year, and she was outstanding for the Cougars all season. She is a quick/fast and electric playmaker off the bounce, she always plays with a ton of energy, but she still needs to learn to change speeds just a bit. She has always flashed nice talent and potential during the grassroots seasons, so it’s still a bit of a surprise that some small college hasn’t locked her in already. She can score it at all three levels, and I think she can become an elite defender, considering her physical ability and her feel for the game. She could be an immediate difference-maker somewhere.

Wawasee | 2021
State

, 5-6 CG, Wawasee H.S.
As you can see above, Danielle has put together a modest résumé, at best, at Wawasee. But, for those of you who have seen her during the grassroots seasons, she has been solid, if not stellar, at times. Danielle is a tremendous athlete with very good speed and quickness. She plays with an outstanding motor, she’s tough-nosed and gritty, and she has shown the ability to be a lock-down defender when she wants. She can handle the ball and run offense at times, plus she’s an effective scorer attacking the basket. Her perimeter shooting could be more consistent, but she has a lot of tools to work with, and I think she could be one of the more athletic guards on most small college rosters.

Emma’s play over the last year or so has been somewhat indicative of her physical growth. She was absolutely tiny when she got to high school, and while she still isn’t a muscular menace, she looks a couple of inches taller, and you can definitely see a lot more strength in her game. When I saw her this Fall, she was playing with a renewed confidence, she was absorbing contact better, and her ability to take care of the basketball had improved greatly. I really think she could be a nice small college point guard, because she has a natural feel for the game, plus length, fluid athleticism, and she’s a more than capable perimeter shooter. As she keeps getting stronger, she should only get better.

Tri-Central | 2021

, 5-5 CG, Tri-Central H.S.
Kenadie has always been a key player for Tri-Central, and finishing her career just shy of 1500 points should suggest that, if you haven’t seen her play. This season, however, she found even another gear offensively, and she really put it on several opponents, scoring about her 21.3 average on 12 occasions, while topping 30 points four times. She has a wiry strong frame with some length, she’s a solid athlete in most directions, and she just plays with a poise and a nice feel for the game. She definitely has ball skill and the potential to be a full-time point guard, but after the way she scored it this season, I am debating whether or not she might be utilized better off the ball as a primary scorer.
