- Sarah Finley is a 2023 6’1 Post from TCSV. Sarah is averaging 20.4 points per game along 7.2 rebounds per game to start the season. Sarah is shooting 59% from the field and 70% from the the free throw line. She has really improved her low post game to be able to score off either shoulder in the paint.
- Audrey Sabol Audrey Sabol 6'0" | C Nokomis | 2023 State IL is a 2023 6’0 Post from Nokomis. Audrey is averaging 16.2 points per game to go with 11.3 rebounds per game. She had a very good freshman campaign and has stepped up even further as she embarks on her sophomore campaign. Audrey is shooting 50% from the floor and has really improved her ability to score from off the low block.
- Nikya Harston is a 5’10 2021 4/5 from Hillsboro. Nikya has a nice low post game where she finds a way to get off her shots against taller defenders. She has a tenacity about her when rebounding and defending. If Nikya can continue to improve her faceup game she might be a good fit at a small school as a 4. The heart and hustle are there. Nikya is consistently hitting double figures and 7-8 rebounds per game.
- Alyssa Powell Alyssa Powell 5'10" | PF Triad | 2022 State IL is a 5’10 2022 Forward from Triad. Alyssa has good spring in her legs and moves well both in the half court and running the floor end to end. She is working hard to expand her game and abilities on the wing. Alyssa has spent most of her career playing with her back to the basket but certainly has the potential to move to the high post or on the wing. To maximize her potential she will need to improve her handles and form on her jump shot to get consistent. In the mean time she has good potential as a small college 4/5. So far for the season Alyssa is averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals per game.
- Claire Christeson Claire Christeson 6'0" | PF Civic Memorial | 2022 State IL Claire is a long and agile stretch 4 that shots great potential to be a defensive force at the next level. She does a very good job at the top of any press/zone or can certainly defend most positions in the man to man. So far this season Claire is scoring 8 points per game to go with 6 rebounds and 3 steals per game. I believe Claire is really just beginning to scratch the surface of what she can do on a basketball floor.
- Bella LaPorta Bella LaPorta 6'0" | C Highland | 2021 State IL Bella is a 6ft 2021 4/5 from Highland. Although Bella has made the decision to purse volleyball at the college level she is still fun to watch as she finishes her high school career. Bella has really become a force in the mid range during her career. She has a nice shot from 15 feet and is an excellent passer. So far for the season she is averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds a game.
- Jillian Hamilton Jillian Hamilton 5'11" | SF Pana | 2022 State IL Jillian is a 5’10 2022 forward that is definitely on the radar of college coaches as she plays a shortened version of her junior season. Jillian is strong and athletic with the capability to hurt you on both ends of the floor. She tracks the ball well in the middle of their press and as the help defender in the half court. Offensively her outside shot has improved dramatically over the past season and she continues to be able to get off jump shots in the lane and score frequently. Jillian has been a double double machine early on and hopes to help her team finish strong in the SCC.
- Emily Johnson is a 5’9 2024 Forward that has been a nice addition to the EAWR team this year. Emily is leading the team in scoring at 12 per game and rebound at just short of 8 per game. She can score consistently in the lane and is shooting 77% from the free throw line. Emily is strong and has a nice touch around the rim. She will be fun to watch as she works her way through her career for the Lady Oilers.
As we continue to work our way through the season we will try to find those players that deserve the exposure. Great job ladies.
