Below are a few post players who are on the new updated rankings of the Class of 2021. Each one of these athletes has been impressive in the paint and have shown exceptional skills at the forward or center position. Take a look!
Vivian Guerrero Vivian Guerrero 6'1" | C Lake Mills | 2021 State WI | 6’1 PF
Lake Mills
Guerrero led her team for four years to successful seasons and became one of the top post players in the state. She’s a fierce rebounder who uses her body well inside. She surprisingly has so much strength in the paint- she’s lanky and thin but uses her body and has exceptional footwork in the lane. She’s athletic enough to handle the ball going downhill and be able to be patient and find her shot in the midrange. She averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds per game. As a senior, she led her team to the WIAA State Tournament before scoring 31 points in the Championship Game to give her team the Gold Ball. She is committed to Edgewood College.
McKenna Hurlburt McKenna Hurlburt 6'1" | C Durand | 2021 State WI | 6’1 C
Durand
A powerful presence in the post, Hurlburt has been an impact player since she stepped onto the court her freshman season. She averaged 9 points per game this season, along with 5 rebounds. She has a unique way of playing her role on her Durand team. I believe the ceiling is high for Hurlburt- if she competes at the next level and continues to perfect her fundamentals and mobility.
Chloe Dallas Chloe Dallas 6'2" | PF Wauwatosa East | 2021 State WI | 6’2 PF
Wauwatosa East | Flight Elite
Dallas holds multiple offers still as she has ended her senior season- hoping to make a decision soon, whoever gets Dallas gets a lottery pick. She’s an exceptional two-way athlete who can score at all three levels of the floor. She’s added incredible consistency to her 3-point shot and is lethal on the pull up from the top of the key. She also has an terrific pivot that she uses when attacking from the midrange or after using her reverse pivot on the block. As a senior, Dallas averaged 20 points and 8 rebounds per game. She scored 1,066 career points in her four years at Tosa East. She earned WBCA Honorable Mention as well.
Chloe Van Zeeland Chloe Van Zeeland 6'1" | PF Kaukauna | 2021 State WI | 6’1 PF
Kaukauna | WI Flight Elite
Van Zeeland has added so much to her game since she stepped onto the court during her Freshman year at Kaukauna. She’s added mobility, speed and overall athleticism that has made her into one of the top power forwards in her class. She’s extremely versatile and can score in so many ways. She’s able to knock down the 3- point shot and needs little to no room- she has length and a quick release that has been very successful thus far. A solid rebounder as well, Van Zeeland does a great job sealing her opponent and chasing down loose boards. She averaged 15 points per game and 8 rebounds as a senior before earning WBCA All State. She is headed to Illinois State next season.
Audrey Hatfield Audrey Hatfield 6'2" | PF Hudson | 2021 State WI | 6’2 PF
Hudson
Hatfield has simply become an elite post player. She averaged nearly 12 points and 10 rebounds per game during her senior season. She scored nearly 1,000 career points before helping to lead her team to the WIAA State Tournament. She has a strong boy and frame. This allows her to play with toughness on the block, both offensively and defensively- she’s not afraid of bumping bodies, and she will use her size to leverage her opponent. She works for positioning defensively, whether that is to front her man or play ¾ in front. Although she is not the quickest, Hatfield shuffles her feel well on the perimeter and creates a solid base for herself by having wide strides and a straight back. She is headed to St. Thomas next season.
Teya Maas Teya Maas 6'1" | PF Watertown | 2021 State WI | 6’1 PF
Watertown
Maas’ athleticism has improved greatly. She is explosive and will more than likely become a better attacker from behind the arc at the next level. She has clean shooting mechanics, which bodes well for her success at the next level as well. She chins the ball off the catch, putting her in a much more powerful position with the ball. She is at her best when she touches the paint in order to create for herself or find her teammates open when she gets double teamed. During her senior season she averaged nearly 13 points and 9 rebounds per game. She has 1,148 total career points during her four years at Watertown. Maas is committed to NJCAA Division II Bryant & Stratton College.
