Continue ReadingWith the updated 2022 rankings there are a handful of players that saw their stock rise. Each of the prospects mentioned below moved up in the latest ranking update and also saw their recruitment gain some momentum during the same time frame.
2022 5’10 SG Kyra Gardner Kyra Gardner 5'11" | SG Raymond | 2022 State WA is easily one of the biggest stock risers in the state. She plays for Raymond High School and Hoopstars in her club ball. She is a great athlete with size at the off guard position. She ranks as the number 11 player in the state for her class with the latest update.
2022 6’0 PF Catelyn Deaver Catelyn Deaver 6'0" | PF Sumner | 2022 State WA is another prospect that has seen her game and recruitment steadily rise over time thanks to her outstanding work ethic and toughness in the paint. The Sumner High School star is relentless on the boards and makes the most out of her natural ability. She now ranks as the number 16 player overall in the state.
2022 5’11 SF Colbi Zorich Colbi Zorich 5'11" | SF Inglemoor | 2022 State WA has worked her way on up the rankings also due to her great work ethic and energy on the floor. She is good in transition and gives her all on defense with versatility at 5’11.
2022 5’10 SG Jenai Ancheta Jenai Ancheta 5'10" | SG Rogers | 2022 State WA of Rogers High School is a prospect that has flown under the radar but deserved to be slotted at her number 24 ranking. She has solid size on the wing, versatility on defense and a really solid skill set all around. She has also picked up some attention from a couple of colleges.
2022 5’7 G Libby Stump Libby Stump 5'7" | CG Lynden Christian | 2022 State WA from Lynden Christian High School is a player that entered the rankings due to her shooting ability and basketball IQ. She is one of the more underrated players in the state and I suspect her recruitment will pick up some steam playing with Tree of Hope.
Biggest Takeaway
Each and everyone of these players has an outstanding work ethic and passion for the game. While their God given ability may differ, the work ethic is very similar for each of them. Players that continue to put the work in seem to have a way of working things out in the long run and I believe that to be the case for each of the ladies above.
