The Class of 2024 already has phenomenal athletes who are going to make a huge impact at their respective programs for the next three years. Prior to the first round of rankings being released- Prep Girls Hoops released a “Watch List” of players to keep an eye on as high school seasons began. Below are players who were on that list and proved that they are even more impressive than expected and earned a spot on the Top 60 in their class.
Taylor Stremlow Taylor Stremlow 5'8" | PG Verona | 2024 State WI
Stremlow is a gifted scorer with a high ceiling. She can score at all three levels and will knock it down consistently far behind the three point line. A great motor and confidence on the court- Stremlow is able to be patient and let the game come to her. She’s a scorer naturally, but has added impressive playmaking to her game as well. She led her high school team to a State Tournament appearance this season while averaging 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assist and 3 steals per game. She earned Honorable Mention All State. Stremlow holds a Division 1 offer from Green Bay.
Savannah James Savannah James 5'7" | CG Grafton | 2024 State WI
James averaged 7 points per game while being a primary guard and facilitating the offense for her Graton team. She’s an energetic guard with great movement on and off the ball. Her spacing is impressive- she moves with a purpose and makes difficult shots look easy. She attacks the rim and knows when to use a floater in the lane. She also has a nice perimeter shot and can consistently knock down 2-3 per game. In a game against Brookfield East, James finished with a season-high 22 points.
Shae Kelley Shae Kelley 5'9" | PG Brookfield East | 2024 State WI
Kelley made an immediate impact during her freshman campaign and was able to score consistently each night while also getting her teammates involved. The 5’9 guard averaged nearly 10 points per game. She’s a sniper from behind the arc and also developed a smooth mid range jumper that worked well over smaller defenders. She also showed impressive passing to her post player inside.
Teagan Mallegni Teagan Mallegni 6'1" | SF McFarland | 2024 State WI
Mallegni had an impressive season with Let It Rain before her freshman season at McFarland. However nothing could have prepared us for what Mallegni brought to the floor during her first campaign. Terrific numbers each time she stepped onto the floor, the 5’11 forward brought so much to the game. She averaged 19 points and 8 rebounds per game. She’s versatile, incredible in transition and very difficult to defend when doing downhill. A dominant rebounder, she has power and balance to grab offensive rebounds and finish high on the glass. Mallegni earned Honorable Mention All State.
Reagan Briggs Reagan Briggs 5'9" | SG Verona | 2024 State WI
Briggs is a confident freshman who has a high IQ and fantastic flow on the court. She’s explosive when attacking the rim and can finish strong against contact. Her first step is difficult to defend and her handles are well developed. She had very impressive performances to help lead her team to a WIAA State Tournament appearance. She averaged 13 points per game for Verona. In a victory over Janesville Parker, Briggs scored a season-high 22 points.
Keona McGee Keona McGee 5'8" | SG Dominican | 2024 State WI
McGee went above and beyond the hype that was expected for her first year at Dominican. Defensively, McGee is elite. She plays in-your-face high pressure defense the entire game at a high level. She averaged nearly 4 steals per game. A prolific scorer who has athleticism, quickness and fundamentals to make a huge offensive impact. Her ability to shift the defender and get to the spot she wants is so impressive. She will take her defender coast to coast. She has a high IQ and knows how to create for herself. During her freshman season she averaged 14 points per game. In a victory over St. Thomas More, McGee scored a season-high 24 points.
Emily Cooper Emily Cooper 5'7" | SG Mcdonnell Central Catholic | 2024 State WI
Cooper is a sniper from behind the arc. She is going to a bucket this summer for Team Wisconsin! She made 36 three point baskets during her freshman season at McDonel Central. She averaged nearly 8 points per game. She gets to her spot and knocks it down with her quick release and well developed mechanics. She comes off screens well and cuts with a purpose so her teammates can find her right at the spot she wants to score.In her first game of her high school season, Cooper made five 3-point baskets.
