<p class="p1">FBC Carolina Elite Charlotte is kicking off their season this weekend at Carolina Girls Hoops Report March Madness tournament with two teams in the area who are full of players that you should know about.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Here are their standout players from the class of 2023 and 2024.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="253889" first="Anastasia" last="Sinclair"]</b> (South Mecklenburg, 2023) has been playing with older athletes most of her high school career, and her IQ certainly explains why.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She handles the ball well controlling the tempo of the game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is patient when letting a play develop and pushes the ball up the court when she has the opportunity.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She strips the ball from her opponents and immediately takes it the other direction.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Lydia Babiyre</b> (Victory Christian, 2023) can shoot from behind the arc, and she shows off her shots after consistently moving into the gaps on defense.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can handle the ball driving through contact, especially making her own plays driving from the top of the key.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She’s also a teammate that you want on the court cheering and encouraging others no matter what is going on.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has a nice shot, and she is ready to shoot whenever she gets the ball.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can pick the pocket of her opponents and take it the other direction for fast break points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has great vision of the court finding her open teammates, especially at a quick pace in transition.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Kennedy Williams</b> (Piedmont Charter, 2023) uses her height to make the paint seem so much smaller.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She follows shots grabbing rebounds, and her close out on opponents when they are shooting is certainly intimidating.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a good job deciding how to score quickly whether she wants to show off her shot or drive to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She keeps the ball high ready to pass or make a play to the basket herself.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can create separation from her opponents to show off her shot.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Laila Hankerson</b> (Rock Hill, 2023) is another ball handler for the FBC teams who knows when and how to use her moves with the ball.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has a nice hesitation move and some crossover moves she likes to use when getting by her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is strong with the ball protecting the possession.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is a tough defender making sure her opponents have no easy passes to get by her.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Arianna Perry</b> (Cox Mill, 2023) uses her length and height to see the floor and cause problems for her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She moves aggressively in the paint finding ways to score battling through contact if she has to.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She throws hard passes making sure her teammates are the only ones who can grab the ball.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>On the other end of the court, she jumps into passing lanes grabbing steals. She picks the pockets of her opponents.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Laura Lassiter</b> (Myers Park, 2023) handles the ball well and has a nasty behind the back dribble that leaves defenders wondering how she got by them.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She knows how to drive to the basket and use her moves at the perfect time to get by her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can certainly show off her shot from behind the arc.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She drives to the basket scoring three points the old fashioned way if she has to.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Alana Hankerson</b> (Rock Hill, 2024) follows shots to make sure she can get some second chance opportunities.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She knows the importance of timing when running plays whether she is waiting for a play to develop while she has the ball, or she is making a cut looking for the ball to get open.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can handle the ball with speed and makes nice passes to her teammates.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can certainly score herself showing off a nice jump shot.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Alyssa Hankerson</b> (Rock Hill, 2024) knows how to handle the ball against older competition even at such a young age.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does a great job penetrating the paint and finding her open teammates in order for them to score.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She knows how to push the ball up the court constantly looking for her teammates cutting to the basket on fast breaks.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She grabs rebounds and takes it the other direction, or she jumps into passing lanes to grab steals.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can certainly shoot well from behind the arc.</p>
