The Class of 2023 has a strong group of perimeter players, and currently our Top-150 is home to 43 small forward prospects who make up 28.7% of all 2023 prospects ranked in Indiana. It is a tremendously deep position group, and it includes a combination of point forwards, wing shooters, slashing attackers, and versatile defenders/rebounders. Below is a look at those 43 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in December.
Stock-Risers
Riley Flinn Riley Flinn 5'11" | SF West Lafayette Harrison | 2023 State IN , West Lafayette Harrison H.S. – Riley’s transformation over the last two years has been incredible. I remember this slender, 5-6ish kid in 2019 who was a point guard/combo guard. Now, she’s a long, wiry strong, fluid athlete on the wing. She’s hard to define by position, but she does most things well.
Lizzie Graham Lizzie Graham 5'8" | SF Triton Central | 2023 State IN , Triton Central H.S. – Lizzie played as a Freshman, but she averaged just 2.5 points. This season the Tigers needed someone to step up, and she did in a big way, averaging 13.4 points. She is tough-nosed, physical, and aggressive. She’s a willing rebounder, and she is a versatile defender.
Saniya Jackson Saniya Jackson 6'0" | SF Fort Wayne Northrop | 2023 State IN , Carroll H.S. (Fort Wayne) – Saniya was outstanding last weekend at the Always 100 showcase, and she continues to improve each time I see her. She has great length, nice all-around athleticism, and she possesses good skill and touch around the perimeter. She will also defend hard.
Renna Schwieterman Renna Schwieterman 6'0" | SF Jay County | 2023 State IN , Jay County H.S. – Renna has the unique combination of good size & strength, physicality, a high skill level, and a great motor. She can play around the basket, post up, rebound, and defend, but she’s also good with the ball in her hands, and she can knock down open rhythm jumpers consistently.
Monica Williams Monica Williams 5'10" | SF Lawrence North | 2023 State IN , Lawrence North H.S. – Monica has always been a nice, long, wiry strong athlete who moves well in every direction. But her ability to develop her skillset the last couple of years has been impressive. She is now more of a point forward who can create, plus she is shooting it more consistently.
Keep an eye on…
Allison Capouch Allison Capouch 5'11" | SF Kouts | 2023 State IN , Kouts H.S. – I feel like Allison grows each time I see her, and once she’s finished growing, she should start adding strength, which could really help her game. She is skillful with the ball in her hands, she has great length, she’s a fairly fluid athlete, and she can knock down shots outside.
Laniya Early Laniya Early 5'10" | SF Lawrence North | 2023 State IN , Lawrence North H.S. – Laniya is a really nice run & jump athlete for the Wildcats. She has an athletic frame, she can play with physicality and finish through contact, and all-in-all she’s just good attacking the basket. She is a solid defender, and if her jump-shot becomes more consistent, watch out.
Riley Makalusky Riley Makalusky 6'2" | SF Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN , Hamilton Southeastern H.S. – Riley is an extremely long, fluid, and smooth wing prospect. She is a very good perimeter shooter who likes to find space in the long-corners and on the deep wings. But she has gotten stronger and is looking to attack more, becoming a complete scorer.
Autumn Rucker Autumn Rucker 5'8" | SF Pike | 2023 State IN , Pike H.S. – Autumn is all upside, and this could be the Spring/Summer she really turns that proverbial corner. She has a fairly strong frame, she’s a talented athlete in all directions, and she can be a great defender at times. As she continues to develop her skillset, she’ll rise up this list.
Kaleah Toomer Kaleah Toomer 5'10" | SF Ben Davis | 2023 State IN , Ben Davis H.S. – Kaleah has played solid minutes each of her first two seasons for the Giants, but she has really showcased her talent during the Summers. Kaleah has a long, wiry strong frame, she moves well in all directions, and she can handle the ball, create offense, or knock down shots.
