Not all teams have started, but this past week a couple of programs got their season underway. Here’s a quick look at some players to keep an eye on from the teams who resumed play.
1. Taylor Feldman Taylor Feldman 5'7" | SG Crean Lutheran HS | 2022 State CA – Crean Lutheran 2022
Feldman played a big role last season as a sophomore and looks ready to take a bigger leap this season. She has all the tools to be a lead guard. She’s very quick and is a solid ball-handler. She runs the break well and keeps her head up while dribbling. Her slashing game is pretty solid and she can drive and kick to open shooters. She looks very comfortable creating her own shot off the dribble. Shoots it well from three-point range with a really quick release.
2. Christy Reynoso Christy Reynoso 5'5" | PG Sierra Canyon | 2024 State CA – Sierra Canyon 2024
Reynoso is one of several freshmen to watch for the Trail Blazers. She’s real young, but she has elite point guard instincts. She’s crafty with the ball in her hands and can handle defensive pressure. She’s a good slasher who uses an array of moves to shake the defense and get to the rim. She’s good in transition and pushes the ball well. Can shoot it from distance and has a quick release. She looks like a leader on the court already.
3. Isabel Clark Isabel Clark 6'0" | C Mater Dei | 2024 State CA – Mater Dei 2024
Clark is an intriguing player who is part of a pretty solid freshman class for the Monarchs. She has good size and length and is very athletic. She is a solid rebounder who is active around the rim. She has good hands and can finish pretty well already. Keeps the ball high and goes straight up to finish. She moves well without the ball. She looks like she has high upside in terms of being an interior presence who is active on the glass.
