Continue ReadingI recently reviewed two major tournaments over the past weekend with Boo Williams and Girls UAA events going on. I was able to take in the Apache Memorial Showcase by Insider Exposure this past weekend in a live setting. This event featured adidas 3SSB and top independent programs from the South, East Coast and a Northwest program making the trip to Charlotte, North Carolina. FBC Northwest had three teams in attendance for the Apache Memorial Showcase. FBC NW Alliance, NW Savages and Washington finished 8-4 as a program in the prestigious event that featured over 300 teams.
FBC NW Alliance had different standouts depending on the game including 2023 6’0 SF Amelie Sitterud Amelie Sitterud 6'0" | SG Tahoma | 2023 State WA who shot the lights out a couple games, 2023 6’1 SF Imbie Jones Imbie Jones 6'2" | SF Garfield | 2023 State WA who got going later on in the event, 2024 5’10 G Lucy Larson who was steady as a freshman playing up. 2023 6’6 PF Olivia Anderson Olivia Anderson 6'6" | PF Ellensburg | 2023 State #37 Nation WA dominated the boards in every game, averaged nearly double digit blocked shots and had some solid scoring outputs. 2022s Jada Walters Jada Walters 5'11" | SF Garfield | 2022 State WA and Mya Hatchett Groce Mya Hatchett Groce 5'7" | PG Pasco | 2022 State WA each played hard and did a little bit of everything.
FBC NW Savages won the 17u Platinum Division and turned heads throughout the weekend. 2023s Maya and Marecia Barnett Marecia Barnett 5'10" | SG Emerald Ridge | 2023 State WA played strong, taking care of the ball and assisting all weekend. 2023 5’9 G Malaya LeSueur defended, pushed the ball in transition and scored off drives to the basket. 2024 Alex Goetz made some jumpers and defended hard. 2022 5’9 uncommitted Kendall Pickford shot very well from deep and handled the pressure well. The super standout from the weekend was HM D1 prospect Soraya Ogaldez who broke the defense down and consistently made plays.
FBC Washington had two major standouts from the weekend. 2025 5’7 G Ella Whitaker dropped 30 points one game including 8 made threes. 2025 5’6 G Lolo Sailors was a consistent 20 point scorer throughout the weekend and grabbed several steals and loose balls through her hustle.
Several Northwest teams traveled down to Phoenix, Arizona for the Elite is Earned/EOT Spring Invitational. Way to Win, Tree of Hope 17 Elite, Spokane Legacy, NW Select and Sagebrush were among those in attendance. Results can be found on the link here.
