Key Players to Watch
Kara Courtad, 5-10 Walsh Jesuit
Has a strong knack to rebound the ball, and has strength when she gets the ball in her hands. A knack to rebound, strength when she gets the ball in her hands. Is effective in starting the transition off the boards, and her intuition of the game is off the charts. Can score around basket and at 5-10 uses her body well and effectively to separate herself off her defender.
Katie Puletti, 5-8 Gilmour
As good of a three-pointer shooter as there is in the Northeast Ohio area, and takes after her talented older sister. Exceptional reading the defenses and passing lanes. From 20-feet, she is a bucket getter. A type of offensive player who can bust open a zone.
Delaney Garcia, 6-0 Lakewood
She is an excellent three point shooter and even her midrange is excellent from 15-foot and in. She has a soft touch at the rim and is athletic. She can get up and down the court with anyone, and can help lead the offense to get a good productive shot.
Elise Champagne, 5-6 Columbia
Definition of a true point guard, she reads the offense very well and makes the correct decision. Elise is good at getting her teammates involved in the game. One thing she can do is score at the rim and is efficient using either hand to score in the paint.
Hadley Hadju, 5-8 CVCA
One of her strengths is her ability to slash and is usually the fastest girl on the court most of the time. She has strong explosiveness and can separate herself from her opponent, Defensively, she is a big asset to the team with her lockdown defensive skills.
Caylen Spano, 5-6 Mercyhurst Prep (Erie, PA)
Excellent point guard and a coaches daughter, so she understands the X and O’s of the game well. She is a methodical thinker on the court with a very good basketball IQ. Does the gritty stuff to make things happen on the floor.
De’Osianna Bennett, 5-8 Trinity
Best man defender on this team and very fluid with the ball. Gets to the rim with either hand and loves to play fast paced, north-south. Sees the passing lanes well and continuing to grow her game and her contributions.
Kristen Kelley, 6-0 Amherst
The leftie utilizes her height and athleticism well on both sides of the ball. Kristen can shoot the three and has a good midrange shot. Can use both hands and a 6-foot, she is very good in transition and makes the right decisions up and down the floor.
Sophia Lance, 5-6 Solon
When it comes to needing a big three, you turn to this kid. Best long range shooter on this team, can knock them down from anywhere either off the pass or dribble. Has a quick release and if she is open, forget it.
Kayla Ferancy, 5-8 Amhert
Impressive on both sides of ball, good combo guard Does everything well, and defensively can guard 1-3.
