14U All-Tournament Team
Kate Wernli-5’7 SG (Team Griffin 2025) 2026
Wernli overly impressed me on opening night as she made the Top Performers Tip Sheet yet as I watched her a couple of more times, I knew exactly what I was looking at. Yes, she can shoot the mid to long-range but I love how she understands how to set the defender up, even more, important is her ability to attack and dish, she makes smart passes but her defense, as well as rebounding, also were pluses and one of the biggest pluses is she did it playing up
Tyra McKinnie-5’9 PF (Team Griffin 2025) 2026
McKinnie gave me shades of yesteryear as she reminded me so much of a young Nneka Ogwumike and I don’t really do the comparison thing but two things, she caught everything that was thrown to her and she went after everything off of the rim and I haven’t seen a whole lot of younger players doing it the way she did, playing up. Speaking of up, her UPside has no ceiling, she’s long and athletic, finishes after contact, reacts well on defense, and her timing to block, deflect or alter shots is ahead of her years
Brooklyn Adney-5’4 CG(Missouri Flight 2025)
Adney does a lot of good things that just ADD up, the first thing she did was show me she could rebound against taller players, it’s called getting the position, a lost art let me add but her painting wasn’t complete as she played the passing lane very well, not to mention created her shot in the halfcourt but then again, in transition she showed she could not only hit the stop and pop from mid to long-range but she could attack and finish and when I talk about long-range, it’s deep
Paige Langley-5’6 CG (Oklahoma Utmost Basketball 2025)
Langley has a nice stroke and she showed she understood how to create her shot under pressure as well as knock it down. She’s full of energy, which stood out on both ends as she attacked whenever she wanted and already understands how to create contact but let me go back to the shooting, she definitely can drop it while being defended from mid to long-range. She also understands how to get hers “in the flow” as well as take over when needed
Sami Sheaffer-5’8 (Oklahoma Utmost Basketball 2025) 2026
Sheaffer got the nod for a number of reasons, her playing up is one and her size is another because I love big guards that can shoot yet, more importantly, so do college coaches and they actually give scholarships. Yes, she can knock the midrange down, another lost art, and she can shoot the long ball but she’s showing the potential to be a legitimate scorer, my definition is “one who can score multiple ways” and that she did with ease. Good upside
