The High School Season has concluded and travel ball season is in full effect. Let’s take a look around Florida on what has been going on in the last couple weeks.
2023 Taliah Scott Taliah Scott 5'8" | SG St. John's Country Day | 2023 State #31 Nation FL (Oakleaf HS / FGB) has received an official invite to USA Basketball U16 Trials. These invites are very exclusive and only sent out to select athletes nationally. Scott is widely considered one of the top 25 prospects in the 2023 class and this is a well deserving article. She will travel to Colorado Springs with other athletes across the US to compete for a spot on the 10-12 man U16 roster for USA Basketball.
2022 Jordana Codio Jordana Codio 6'1" | SF Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL (Montverde Academy) has verbally committed to the University of Texas. It has been quite an eventful few weeks for Codio as just 3 weeks ago she announced she was transferring from American Heritage (Delray) to Montverde Academy. She then later announced her de-commitment from University of Wisconsin after Wisconsin Head Coach Jonathan Tsipis was fired. The decision to commit to Texas, pairs Codio with Head Coach Vic Schaefer, who just recently completed his first season with the Longhorns after a successful stint as the Head Coach of Mississippi State. Schaefer is widely known as a defensive guru and will likely utilize Codio’s length, athleticism, wing span and versatility in a variety of ways in his defensive schemes.
