Prep Girls Hoops was on hand for the action and was able to catch the younger team in action. The FBC NW Alliance Savages held onto beat a feisty Charleston Swarm team on Friday night 50-48. Lets take a look at some of the girls on this talented team.
Marecia Barnett Marecia Barnett 5'10" | SG Emerald Ridge | 2023 State WA (2023) – Emerald Ridge HS (Puyallup)
Barnett was quite efficient with her play today attacking the basket. Barnett was able to finish with her left-hand on a regular basis while around the basket. Barnett was able to pickup several deflections in the passing lanes with her activity.
Malaya LeSueur Malaya LeSueur 5'9" | SF Benson Tech | 2023 State OR (2023) – Benson Tech (Portland, OR)
LeSueur really keeps the ball on a string up the floor. LeSueur caused fits on the defensive end of the floor while creating havoc for the opponent. LeSueur was able to connect on some short mid-range jumpers today.
Naomi Hotchkiss Naomi Hotchkiss 6'4" | C Puyallup | 2023 WA (2023) – Puyallup HS
Hotchkiss has very nimble footwork around the paint. Hotchkiss a back to the basket post player has really good hands around the cup. Hotchkiss has good length in the post and was able to finish around the cup when she looked to shoot the ball.
Emberlyn Reynolds (2023) – Lake City HS (Coeur d’ Alene, ID)
Reynolds a left-handed post player comes from across the border in Idaho. Reynolds plays extremely hard down in the post and really likes to play the game on contact. Reynolds works from block to block and really doesn’t mind playing the game on contact.
Soraya Ogaldez (2025) – Olympia, WA (pictured on front)
Ogaldez is a NAME FOR THE FUTURE FOR SURE. Ogaldez is a electrifying point guard with great ball-handling skills and quickness in the open floor. Ogaldez who was born in Belize was in Virginia at one time while her father was in the military. Ogaldez can really change directions and gears on the floor and had no problem at all getting the ball to the bucket. Ogaldez looks to be attending North Thurston HS in the fall
