Prep Girls Hoops South Carolina Analyst Bret Swanson saw plenty of players from the southeast this weekend. I really wanted to shine the light on some of these young ladies from the Peach State that I was able see play in this article.
Caelan Ellis Caelan Ellis 5'8" | SG McEachern | 2022 State GA (2022) – McEachern HS (Powder Springs) – Atlanta Celtics
Ellis came out on fire today and just kept shooting from behind the arc. Ellis is a high percentage shooter and was always ready shot ready to receive the ball. Ellis never looked to force her shot and when she let it go it was going in.
Sarah Ellis (2022) – Statesboro HS – Level Up Academy
Ellis a combo guard really had the green light to let it fly from the perimeter. Ellis made several heady plays all day long if it was a timely pass, hitting a open shot or just directing a teammate on the floor she did it.
Amaya Moss Amaya Moss 5'10" | PF Kell | 2022 State GA (2022) – Kell HS Kennesaw) – Zone 6 Celtics Gold
Moss is a rim protector with her athleticism around the basket. Moss rebounds the ball on both ends of the floor along with having a great nose for the ball. Moss was constantly finishing on contact today and getting to the foul line. Moss is a very strong student in the classroom with great grades.
Alyssa Staten Alyssa Staten 6'4" | C Statesboro | 2024 State GA (2024) – Statesboro HS – Level Up Academy (pictured on front)
Staten is going to have a very bright future. Staten really carves out space in the paint and plays very mature for her age. Staten keeps the ball up high and really understands how to seal down in the paint. Staten converted everything from 2-4 feet on the floor.
Shamaria Arnold (2024) – Jackson HS (Atlanta) – Team Tiff Johnson
I caught Arnold play in the early morning and she disappoint with her play. Arnold did a bit of everything on the floor. Arnold has a great mid-range game and really got to the foul line at a good clip. Arnold was on top of every 50/50 ball and rebounded ball extremely well on both ends of the floor.
