This weekend I was in Indianapolis attending the Indy Clash at the Indianapolis Convention Center. The field had several really nice teams in each age group, there were a number of competitive games each day, and below are ten young ladies who I thought played well when I was able to see them throughout the day Saturday.

I have always enjoyed watching Koryn play, but I also continue to be impressed with how much she improves from season to season. She is so strong and physical as a point guard, but she also has solid quickness and playmaking ability. When she was younger, she used to force offense at times, but now she’s one of the most efficient point guards in this class. She is a knockdown shooter, she plays with a tremendous motor, and she has a really nice, quiet toughness about her game. I think schools will be excited in July, once they see for themselves how much work she has put into her game.
Dyllan Metcalf, 2023, 5-7 CG, St. Vincent-St. Mary’s H.S. (OH)
I caught Dyllan on Saturday playing against an Indiana team, and she was outstanding. She has tremendous length, good speed and quickness, and she is just a nice, fluid athlete who can glide to the basket with ease. But it wasn’t her attacking the stood out; she is an elite shooter with range. In the 18 or so minutes I saw of this game, she knocked down six of seven shots from 3-point range and they were mostly contested shots a solid foot or two behind the line. She has a nice handle and can create space off the bounce as well, plus she just has a natural feel for the game.
Nevaeh Scott, 2023, 5-5 PG, Bartlett H.S. (TN)
While the final score wasn’t favorable, Nevaeh put on a show in her Saturday morning game against a top-tier Indiana squad. She is a strong, quick/fast, and explosive point guard who can change directions and get downhill in a hurry. She absorbs contact well, finishes around and over taller players, but it was her perimeter shooting that stood out in this one. On a number of occasions, she would simply cross half-court and just pull up from 25 to 28-feet, consistently burying shots outside. She is a real handful for opponents to defend.

Whitney is a bit of a deceptive prospect, but she is always productive and comes up with big plays at key moments. She is a little undersized for how she plays, because she can get incredibly physical and battle much taller, stronger opponents in the paint. She finishes inside in a variety of ways, but she also has a nice mid-post game facing the rim, plus she isn’t at all uncomfortable around the perimeter. I really enjoy her nonstop motor, and her physicality and toughness, always doing whatever her team needs to win.

. Then came little sis’ Kenzie, and she has been every bit as dynamic, if not more so. Kenzie is a little taller and longer than her sister, but she plays with that same toughness and grit, and she can flat out score the basketball from anywhere on the floor. She has the touch to shoot it with range beyond the arc. She can attack and score at the basket, plus she has a nice pull-up in her arsenal. Additionally, she has a solid basketball IQ, feel, and understanding of who is where at all times. I think she’s a really nice scoring point guard who always affects the game.

, 2024, 5-9 SF, Evansville Memorial H.S.
If she isn’t already, Sophie will be “on the map” next Winter in the Evansville area due to a number of 2021 graduations at Memorial. She is a long, wiry strong, and very athletic wing who is difficult to label by a single position. She can handle the ball and act as a point forward, she can knock down open rhythm jumpers to the perimeter, plus she can get inside and post/rebound at times. Defensively, she can guard perimeter players or forwards, but she always plays with good effort and athleticism.
Elle Schneider, 2024, 5-8 SF, Lanesville H.S.
This was my first time seeing Elle play, and she reminds me a little of 2023 teammate

. Elle is a strong kid for her age, she’s a nice all-around athlete, and she plays with a good motor and a lot of physicality. Ultimately, she’ll probably be a wing long-term, but she isn’t shy about getting inside and battling for rebounds or trying to score it around the block. As she continues to build her ball skill and make her perimeter jumper more consistent, I look for her to be a really nice compliment to Wernert next season, as Lanesville looks to stay near the top of Class 1A once again.
Addie Shank, 2024, 5-11 PF, Bishop Luers H.S.
When I saw Addie last Summer, it was obvious she was a tough-nosed, hard-working forward who would eventually contribute at Luers. But I’m not sure even Luers would have thought she’d give them 10.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game on their schedule as a Freshman. Addie looks a little taller, much stronger, and a great deal more assertive than she did ten months ago. She battles inside with physicality and toughness, and she simply out-hustles her opponents on most occasions. As she continues developing her face-up game, especially in the mid-post, look for her to be a high teens scorer at the high school level.
Addison Baxter, 2025, 5-6 PG, Columbia City H.S.
Addison has become one of the best 8th Grade prospects in Northeast Indiana, and she is still growing. She has really good length, quickness, and a lot of ball skill for a young prospect. She uses either hand equally well, and she can turn the corner and get downhill or create space to get her shot away. She’s also very crafty and has nice court awareness. Saturday she made a difficult wrap-around pass in transition that was so unexpected, her teammate wasn’t ready for it. I also like the fact that she prides herself defensively as well.
Gabby Spink, 2025, 5-8 CG, Gibson Southern H.S.
In the complete opposite “corner” of the state, Gabby is making a name for herself as a top 8th Grader in the Evansville area. She has an athletic frame, length, and she moves effortlessly in all directions. She plays with a really nice motor and great instincts. She can handle it a little and run offense, but she is more of a scorer at heart right now. She can knock down shots outside, or she can break down defenders with a variety of dribble-moves and get to the basket to finish. She is a really nice all-around ballplayer.
