- Caitlin Washington Caitlin Washington 5'8" | PG Neuqua Valley | 2024 State IL Caitlin was outstanding in the hard fought and much anticipated game against Illinois Elite. She did a very good job early in the game of playing the lead guard role and facilitating. In the second half she went 6/6 at the line and had 14 points to finish with 21. Caitlin played the game under control and never let the pace speed her up to the point of being out of control. She is clearly bigger and stronger than the last time I saw her in person. Caitlin needs to watched by D1 schools looking for a point guard.
- Madison Davis is a 5’9 2024 wing from Example Sports and Marian Catholic. This was my first time seeing Madison and I really liked her game. She is long and tough.Madison can defend and rebound while also being able to score inside and out. She was a huge part of Example Sports maintaining control of the in the second half.Madison had 5 points in the first half and 14 in the second half for 19 total.
- Destiny Jackson is a 5’5 2025 Point Guard from the Illinois Elite. Destiny had an up and down game in the show down against Example Sports. But, during this showed why she is so special. Shooting struggles had her at 4 points for the first half and her team trailed into the second half. So, when the chips were down Destiny found a way to find another gear. The opposing coaches were telling their defenders how and where to play Destiny but they just didn’t understand, sometimes you know where a great player is going but you still cannot stop it. Destiny had 18 second half points for a total of 22. It wasn’t enough to get a victory but it turned some heads of fans that were not as familiar with her game.
- Savannah James Savannah James 5'7" | CG Grafton | 2024 State WI is a 5’7 2024 Guard from Wisconsin Playground. Savannah is the #37 ranked player in the 2024 class in Wisconsin and she showed why this weekend. She is a nice combo guard that can lead and facilitate the offense but also has the ability to score at a high level. Savannah is a long and smooth athlete that has a burst to her when she needs to turn it up a notch. She did a good job of attacking the rim and finishing with a nice arsenal of shots on her way to 12 points in the game I scouted.
- Ava Collier-White Ava Collier-White 5'4" | PG Prairie | 2024 State WI is a 5’4 Point Guard from Wisconsin Playground. Ava is the #31 ranked player in the 2024 class in Wisconsin. She is very capable of playing with other strong guards and giving up control of the ball. Ava handles it well and uses her skills and athletic ability to get where she wants on the court. She can score in the lane in addition to having a shot that she can hit consistently out past the three point line. In the game I scouted Ava had 17 points and helped lead her team to an 18 point victory.
- Sofia Corral is a 5’8 2025 wing playing for the Illinois Rockets Red team. Sofia did a very good job in transition that helped her score 12 points in a 48-20 victory in the game I watched. When the transition opportunities were not there Sofia was still very effective by being in constant movement. She has a old feel for a motion offense and the constant cutting and screening associated with that style of play.
- JJ Barnes Is a 5’8 2025 wing from Wisconsin Playground 15u Smith team. JJ is a long left hander that doesn’t give the impression that she is playing up a level when you watch her. She is talented and confident in herself and is certainly the player that wants to ball in critical situations. JJ can score in a variety of ways but seems to be best in the mid range where the defender has to account for the drive or the jumper. With her long arms she is very hard to slow down because she can drive around most taller players while shooting over most smaller players. JJ has a it of a lean away from the hoop on mid range jumpers which causes defenders even more headaches. She is one to watch develop in Wisconsin over the next 4 years.
- Gabi Bednar is a 5’6 2024 Guard from the Force MW team. Babi had a nice freshman season for Providence Catholic and had a huge second half in what amounted to the pool championship game in her first AAU event of the spring. She is a tough guard that can defend and rebound but her bread and butter is the outside shot. Gabi had two critical 3-pointers late in the game on her way to 15 second half points and 20 total. Gabi is a smart player and understands spacing and how to get her shots.
The second day of games did not disappoint and I was happy to see more players and learn about the talent on display. Congratulations to Example Sports 2024 UAA and Force MW 2024 on winning the two pools in15u.
